About the Match
After their comfortable win against Mumbai Indians in the opening match of the tournament, Rajasthan Royals will now face the Highveld Lions on 25 Sep at their home turf. The Royals lead Group A with 4 points whereas Lions have 2 points on the table, having shared the points with Scorchers for yesterday’s match that was washed away by rain. Both teams have the required specialists as well as enthusiasm of the younger lot of players. The Lions will look for their first break this season. On the other hand the Royals are all geared up to repeat their performance in the first outing
and come out trumps here too.
Led by Alviro Petersen, the Lions are looking to up their game in the hunt for the trophy this time around. Last season runner-ups, the team is confident of putting up a good start to their campaign. The bowling unit has spinners and fast bowlers alike. Imran Tahir and Aaron Phangiso will provide the spin magic whereas Lonwabo Tsotsobe and Ethan O’Reilly are the speed masters. Sohail Tanvir with his multitude of experience will look to provide a balance to this tight bowling squad. Petersen and the other batsmen like Rassie van der Dussen, Gulam Bodi, Quinton and Dwaine Pretorius are also looking good and will try to build a good total.
The Royals once again remained unbeaten on home ground with a superb win in their first match against Mumbai Indians, the reigning champions of this year’s IPL. Vikramjeet Malik with his 3 crucial wickets made early in-roads into the Mumbai batting line-up, restricting them to an easily defendable 142 runs. Watson and Stuart Binny took the important wickets of Rohit Sharma and Tendulkar making the required damage to the opponents. Sanju Samson was the hero of the day, with 54 runs and becoming the youngest player in CLT20 to score a half century. A good support in the middle was provided by Ajinkya Rahane, Stuart Binny and Shane Watson with an excellent show of their batting skills. With the right mix of young players and distinguished ones like Rahul Dravid, Shane Watson and Brad Hodge, this team is a tough side to beat.
The Royals and Lions both have talented players on their side. Lions are well acquainted with the conditions here and have a good experience of playing in the T20 formats. The Lions have a good combination of players – with both bowlers and batsmen having proven track records. The Royals on the other hand are a formidable side with top class players and youngsters who have a good exposure in the shorter form of the fame. The Lions have been preparing well for the game and will do their best in this match. With the support of the home crowd and morale boost that they received at the start, the Royals look better placed and will set the stage for another comfortable win and some much needed success in our cricket betting
