About the Match
After back to back losses against Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively, Royals will take on mighty Kolkata Knight Riders on 26th April in the afternoon game at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Although this match will not make any changes to the current standings in the points table, it can be an pivotal match in the teams' journey to the playoffs. A win for RR will restore their lost momentum and confidence whereas a win for KKR would take them closer to the teams standing tall at the top. Both the teams are coming after facing a tough loss and it is an all-important game for both the teams. With plenty at stake for both the teams, it promises to be an enthralling encounter.
Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start winning five game out of their first five, but have now stumbled losing two consecutive games. They've now slipped to second spot in the table, just behind CSK albeit RR have played an extra game. As far as their lineup and form is concerned, they still look as threatening and formidable as before. Ajinkya Rahane is in prime form and holds the orange cap. Shane Watson just came into the side and has played only a few games, but already has had two humongous partnerships with Rahane. Morris has been bowling well with good support from Tambe and Dhawal Kukarni. As they've done in the past, Royals will have to get together and play as a team if they want to make a comeback and get back to the winnings ways.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata had a good start to the season, but have now slipped to 3rd spot in the points table. They've had a start and stop kind of season as they haven't been able to gather momentum and get wins on the trot. They can call their loss in the last match a little fortunate as the game was hampered by rain, but they were ahead after the half time albeit just. Gautam Gambhir seems to be in fine form and Robin Uthappa showed glimpses of coming back. Andre Russel has been their star performer as he has performed both with the bat and ball. Morne Morkel and Umesh Yadav have provided good starts more often than not. Yusuf has chipped in both with the ball and bat and have contributed nicely to the team's success. KKR would need to play out of their skins to pull this game off in front of their home crowd.
Rajasthan's batting has been in brilliant form, but it stumbled and left an easy target for RCB to chase. KKR has had Morne Morkel firing more often than not. It would be imperative for KKR to pick up early wickets to damage Rajasthan Royal's chances in this game. Royal's on the other hand would have to play well as a team and do as they were doing in the first few games. Royals have had one unlucky defeat and one bad game and I think they will bounce back and register a win against Kolkata Knight Riders.
