The Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to get their second win of IPL 2019 against the Kolkata Knight Riders thanks to a brilliant batting performance. Virat Kohli led the way with his fifth IPL century and looked in imperious form. The fact that this win came without AB de Villiers in the playing eleven makes it all the more impressive.
RCB is now going to play against the best team of IPL 2019 so far, the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni and his men have won seven out of the nine matches they have played and are almost certain of qualifying for the IPL 2019 playoffs.
Chennai did lose its previous game against the Sunrisers but that is not something that is going to affect them too much at this stage. There is a traditional rivalry between Chennai and Bengaluru in all aspects of life and so this match always has a little extra edge to it.
The match is scheduled to be played at the Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru.
Virat Kohli played one of his signature brilliant inning to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore post a huge total against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Bangalore ended up with 214 runs on the board and eventually won the match by just 10 runs.
Kohli had started the inning quite slow and it was Moeen Ali who first took the attack to the opposition. His 66 off 28 deliveries was no less important to the win than Kohli’s inning.
RCB has now got its second win of the tournament thanks to a brilliant set of individual performances but its strategy does not do it any favors. The team refuses to use its resources in the way that every other successful side is doing.
Parthiv Patel and Akshdeep Nath, no disrespect to either of them, have no business coming in to bat ahead of Moeen Ali, Marcus Stoinis, or even Heinrich Klaasen. Stoinis is not being used at all late down the order and can easily open the batting.
Virat Kohli seems to be worried about batting collapses but must back his best players to be able to play out 20 overs on most occasions. We can still hope for a change in the batting order against Chennai but the chances of it happening look slim at the moment.
Dale Steyn added a much needed boost to the bowling lineup. He took two wickets and was very economical in his first spell. Yuzvendra Chahal had a rare bad night in his previous match and we think he is going to come back stronger. On the whole, though, the Royal Challengers bowling lineup remains among the weakest in the tournament.
Parthiv Patel, V Kohli, AB de Villiers, Akshdeep Nath, Moeen Ali, Marcus Stoinis, Pawan Negi, DW Steyn, NA Saini, YS Chahal, Umesh Yadav.
The Chennai Super Kings were beaten quite convincingly by the Sunrisers in their previous match. MS Dhoni missed that match because of a small injury and that made a very big difference to how the game progressed.
Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis got the side off to a great start and put on 79 runs but the batting just collapsed after that. Only 30 runs were scored from the last five overs as the Chennai Super Kings ended on 132 for five wickets.
Chennai Super Kings are missing a lower order powerful batsman and without Dhoni, that shortcoming was brutally exposed. It also did not help that the middle order of Kedar Jadhav and Sam Billings was unable to get any runs whatsoever.
The Chennai Super Kings are traveling to a venue where batsmen have dominated. Their own batsmen must perform better to be able to compete. We think that MS Dhoni should return in place of Sam Billings.
The Chennai bowling attack has been very good this year. With a small total to defend and a pitch that had become easier for batting, they put in one of their worst performances. Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Karn Sharma were quite ineffective.
Imran Tahir continued to bowl brilliantly and have an effect on the proceedings of the match. His role is going to be very important heading into the next match against the Royal Challengers. Chennai has been lucky to have won some matches from tough positions and it looks now that their luck may be running out.
SR Watson, Faf du Plessis, SK Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, SN Thakur, Imran Tahir.
The team winning the toss is likely to want to bat second. Defending totals has been very difficult at the Chinnaswamy stadium. There is also a slight threat of rain around. This is why chasing might be the way to go in this match.

RCB vs CSK IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The weather is expected to be a bit cloudy on match day in Bengaluru. There is a 20% chance of rain forecast so hopefully, we will not have any interruptions.
The pitch at the Chinnaswamy stadium has been very good for batting this year. We are hopeful of seeing another batting beauty which will allow the big-hitters on both sides to flourish. The small dimensions of the ground make protecting the boundaries very difficult as well.
A score of around 180 should be considered par.
There are a lot of desirable high-value cricketers available in this match and this is why the Dream 11 selection for RCb vs CSK requires making some tough choices.
Wicketkeeper: MS Dhoni, Heinrich Klaasen, and Parthiv Patel are the options for this place. We have picked Parthiv Patel for two reasons. He continues to bat in the powerplay and is pretty consistent in getting some runs. He is also available for 8.5 points to Dhoni's 9.5 which we can use later.
Batsmen: We have picked the four most expensive batsmen in this match. Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers. Watson has a very good record at the Chinnaswamy and can easily clear the small boundaries at the ground. The other three batsmen have been in terrific form and are a must-have in every team.
All-Rounders: We have picked Moeen Ali and Marcus Stoinis in our side. Moeen Ali is contributing with both the bat and ball. He is an easy pick. Stoinis, though, has been batting far too down the order to have a real impact. We hope to see him open the batting and that is why are taking a risk that can pay off in a big way.
Bowlers: Imran Tahir, Shardul Thakur, Dale Steyn, and Navdeep Saini are the bowlers we have picked for this match. Tahir is the best spinner of IPL 2019 while all the other three fast bowlers bowl during the powerplay and the end of the inning. This gives them a good chance of picking up wickets.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have decided to pick Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers as our Captain and Vice-Captain respectively. Hopefully, we get to see one of their trademark massive partnerships in the next match!

Chennai Super Kings have won their last seven matches against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their overall record stands at 16-7 in favor of Chennai. At the Chinnaswamy stadium, though, things are a bit more even. Royal Challengers Bangalore have won three out of the seven completed matches at this venue.
MS Dhoni is expected to be back for Chennai to give them a boost but Bangalore may also welcome back AB de Villiers.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are returning to their home venue with some momentum and their big players hitting form.
Back the Royal Challengers Bangalore to win.
