Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore had contrasting starts to their 11th IPL campaigns. Kings XI Punjab cruised to a six-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils, the Royal Challengers were handed a crushing defeat by Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. The Challengers are now back at their home venue, Chinnaswamy Stadium, where they'd like to get off to a flyer and dictate terms. The Kings will take on the Challengers in the 7th game of the tournament on 12th May in what will be the second match for both the sides. The Kings from Punjab will be looking to build on the momentum whereas the Challengers will be looking to get back to winning ways. Chinnaswamy is known for its high scoring deck and we expect a run-scoring fest on the match day.

RCB vs KXIP Team Previews

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Although the Kings will be a visiting side in Bengaluru, there could still be plenty of support for them with two Karnataka guys in their lineup. Remarkably, both KL Rahul and Karun Nair scored quick fifties to take KXIP to a victory with Rahul's fifty the fastest ever in the history of Indian Premier League.

Beginning with lots of spin in the powerplay overs, R Ashwin never allowed Delhi Daredevils to get going. Debutant Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked up Colin Munro in his first over. The spin trio of Axar Patel, Mujeeb, and Ravi Ashwin spun the web which didn't allow the power hitters to take off.

Their only matter of concern could be the form of Yuvraj Singh who worked laboriously for his 12 runs knock which lasted for 22 deliveries. We may see a change in the batting order with Stoinis coming up the order and Yuvraj moved down to his regular number four position.

RCB didn't have an ideal start to the tournament as they failed to post register anything big at Eden Gardens. Despite a below-par score and belligerent innings by Sunil Narine, their bowlers managed to make a match out of it.

Batting first, RCB came out with an all-or-nothing approach as Brendon McCullum hammered 14 runs off the first over. Quinton de Kock perished in a quest to score quickly. Their innings was then stabilized by Brendon McCullum and Virat Kohli. Their power-packed middle order scored runs, but not at a rate they'd have wanted. Virat Kohli was sedated in his approach and struggled throughout his innings. AB de Villiers fiery knick provided the impetus to the innings, but his, as well as Kohli's wicket to part-timer Nitish Rana, derailed their innings.

Playing after a long time, both Mandeep Singh and Sarfaraz Khan struggled to hit the ball out of the middle. Although the former managed to redeem the slow start by hitting 16 runs off the final over of the innings, Sarfaraz could not justify his retention.

Unlike the past few overs, RCB's bowling appeared improved with the inclusion of Chris Woakes and Umesh Yadav. Umesh Yadav, in particular, looked sharp and picked up two crucial wickets. RCB is a strong team and results could be record-breaking if their top four gets going. In case they do not, their lower middle order will have a task cut out.

KXIP is massively dependent on their spin department which could be a call for trouble at small Chinnaswamy Stadium. With a couple of players have played at this venue and big hitters in Stoinis and Miller at their disposal, KXIP can certainly give RCB a run for their money.

Pitch and Conditions

Chinnaswamy Stadium is known to be a high-scoring venue with batsmen getting full value for their shots. Pitch tended to be a little slow during the second half of last year's edition, but it is expected to be a batting paradise right from the start.

RCB vs KXIP Betting Tips

Kings XI Punjab started off the tournament in rocking fashion with two Karnataka boys wrecking havoc on Delhi Daredevils. A lot will depend on how those two play the RCB bowlers.
