The Royal Challengers Bangalore won a heart-stopping match against the Chennai Super Kings to give them their third victory of IPL 2019. This has been a year full of some exciting matches but we are not sure there will be anything to match what we witnessed in the previous game. Winning such close games can really help the confidence of the team and that is exactly what Virat Kohli would be hoping for.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are going to be playing their next match against the Kings XI Punjab. All matches in IPL 2019 are important and this one is no different. Kings XI Punjab is currently fifth on the IPL 2019 League Table. It looks like the race for the playoff places is going to be very tight and so Kings XI needs to win this next match to stay close to its competitors.
RCB has also left itself absolutely no room for errors and must continue to win from here on in.
There is something about IPL teams that we will never understand. All of these teams seem to want to ‘hold’ their in-form players rather than rewarding them by sending them up the order. Moeen Ali played a match-winning knock of 66 from just 28 deliveries and was demoted in the next match! Virat Kohli has never been the most tactically astute captain but questions must be asked from the entire team management as to their thinking.
In this next match against the Kings XI, Royal Challengers Bangalore are going to be facing one of its old superstars. Chris Gayle made his name playing for the Bengaluru team and would love to show them what they are missing out on.
Of course, Dale Steyn might have a couple of thoughts about that.
Dale Steyn has made an immediate impact to the side ever since he has joined them. He is picking up early wickets and is giving Virat Kohli an experienced option to turn to during the end of the inning.
Steyn, Navdeep Saini, and even Umesh Yadav bowled well for the majority of their last match. We don’t think there will be any change to the bowling side in this next match.
Yuzvendra Chahal, Pawan Negi, Marcus Stoinis, and Moeen Ali also give the Royal Challengers Bangalore plenty of bowling options which they can make use of. We quite like the match-up of this set of bowlers against the Kings XI batsmen.
The batting performance by RCB was not too good in the previous match. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers did not score too many runs while Marcus Stoinis and Moeen Ali did not have enough time to make an impact. Clearly, Virat Kohli is worried about collapses and is trying to spread out his best players in the batting order.
However, having Parthiv Patel and Akshdeep Nath take up valuable overs while the big names are sitting in the dressing room cannot be helpful in the long run. Parthiv is not going anywhere now, but we can expect to see Moeen Ali move back to his number four position.
Parthiv Patel, V Kohli, AB de Villiers, Marcus Stoinis, Akshdeep Nath, Moeen Ali, Washington Sundar, TG Southee, NA Saini, Umesh Yadav, YS Chahal.
A loss to the Delhi in the previous game has put the brakes on a Kings Xi recovery in IPL 2019. Now, they have another opportunity to try and get into the top-4 of the tournament. There are some clear problems that Kings XI has been having but we think they are going to go to Bengaluru with a lot of hope.
The Kings XI have in their squad some players that are going to enjoy playing at the Chinnaswamy. Chris Gayle called RCB home for a long time, Lokesh Rahul has grown up playing there, and Mandeep Singh will have some very fond memories of his time with RCB as well.
The conditions in Bengaluru are also very good for batting in most matches. Big-hitters have done well here and that is exactly what the Kings XI have in their side. Chris Gayle Lokesh Rahul, David Miller, and even Sam Curran are some of the players that we would watch out for in this match.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore also have some spinners that are going to be turning the ball into the left-handers. We really think there is a betting opportunity in backing the Kings XI batsmen to score a lot of runs.
The weakness in the Kings XI batting has been apparent. They are extremely dependent on Gayle and Rahul to do most of the work and the depth is just not there. Ashwin has also been making a bit too many changes to the side.
We could see a few more changes if Mujeeb ur Rahman and Moises Henriques have regained their fitness as well. The biggest danger to the Kings XI side is going to be its bowling. We don’t think they have the bowling to be able to stop the Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen from scoring freely.
It could all come down to a six-hitting fest with bowlers being put to the sword.
Lokesh Rahul, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, David Miller, M Singh, Nicholas Pooran, Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardus Viljoen, Murugan Ashwin, AS Rajpoot, Mohammed Shami.
Teams winning the toss have preferred batting second at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Small boundaries and a good batting pitch make chasing the preferred thing to do here.

RCB vs KXIP is going to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The weather should be good for cricket on match day with only a small likelihood of rainfall predicted. The pitch used at the Chinnaswamy in the previous match was a bit slower than what we have seen so far. Hopefully, the groundsman will be able to go back to making a batting beauty for this match.
Looking at the two batting sides and their weak bowling units, we think a high-scoring match is very likely.
There are a lot of good options available for Royal Challengers Bangalore versus Kings Xi Punjab Dream 11 team selection. A few difficult choices have had to be made keeping the balance of the team in the mind but we hope that they will pay off.
Wicketkeeper: Lokesh Rahul is clearly the better choice than Parthiv Patel in our opinion. Parthiv may actually be more dependable than Lokesh Rahul but he is unlikely to get too many big scores. Rahul can get those big scores and hit plenty of sixes while getting them.
Batsmen: This is where the real tough questions came up. We have picked Chris Gayle, Ab de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Akshdeep Nath, and Mandeep Singh in our side. No David Miller for us in this match. Picking the relatively inexpensive Nath and Singh allows us to select all the major superstars of the match.
All-rounder: We have picked just Moeen Ali in this category, once again hoping that he gets a chance to play up the order. His off-spin could also prove to be useful against the many left-handers that the Kings XI side has.
Bowlers: We have taken Mohammad Shami, Murugan Ashwin, Dale Steyn, and Navdeep Saini in this match. All four bowlers have been doing well in the recent past and are proven wicket-takers. We have not taken Yuzvendra Chahal or Pawan Negi because they may not be allowed to bowl their full quota of overs if Gayle or Miller is at the crease.
Captain and Vice-captain: We have picked Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli as our captain and vice-captain respectively. These are the two safe options that you may want to choose if you are playing head to head contests on Dream 11 or else try something more adventurous for the big winner lottery contests.

Betting against an in-form Chris Gayle setting the Chinnaswamy alight once again is difficult. We think Kings XI Punjab has the batting to be able to win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. It is going to be a close match and could come down to the small things in the field, another area where Punjab has been better than Bangalore this year.
Back Kings XI Punjab to win.
