The Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Mumbai Indians have both lost their opening game of IPL 2019. At this point, a poor start to their campaign is not going to come as a surprise to IPL supporters. Both of the teams playing this match are known to start slowly and then build momentum over the next few matches.
RCB vs MI IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. RCB is loved as an IPL franchise in its home town and we have no doubt that the entire stadium is going to be a sea of red when RCB takes on the Mumbai Indians on Thursday night.
RCB played the first match of IPL 2019 against CSK and got bowled out for 70. Virat Kohli and his staff clearly misread the pitch and were unlucky to lose the toss as well. They had a zero chance of winning once they had failed to put up a competitive total on the board.
Now, RCB has a chance to reset its IPL 2019 campaign on what should hopefully be a much better surface to play on.
It would be unfair on any player to be dropped after the performance of the first match. No one did anything of note and this is why all the players should get another go. RCB opened with Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel followed by Moeen Ali, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Shivam Dube, and Colin de Grandhomme at 7.
This is a pretty good batting lineup. There is plenty of power, experience, class, and just having Virat Kohli in the side should get you some extra points for sure. The only thing we would change is having Parthiv Patel at the top. He will get you consistent twenties or thirties but not much more.
We are looking at the big hitters in the RCB side to have a major impact in this next match. Moeen Ali, AB de Villiers, and Shimron Hetmyer are all prolific six hitters that should enjoy the small boundaries and thin air in Bengaluru.
The RCB bowling lineup comprising of Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, and Nitin Saini looks a little thin. Yuzvendra Chahal is a class act and they also have Moeen Ali, Colin de Grandhpmme, and Shivam Dube to contribute but it could another IPL season where RCB struggles to find the bowlers to keep runs down.
V Kohli, Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Shivam Dube, Colin de Grandhomme, NA Saini, YS Chahal, Umesh Yadav, M Siraj.
Mumbai Indians started its IPL 2019 season with a pretty poor performance against the Delhi Capitals. Not only did they allow Delhi Capitals to get to a massive total, but they also followed it up with some inept batting.
The team selection for the match was also quite head scratching and we are certain that Mumbai Indians will have to make a few changes ahead of their match against RCB.
The few positives for the Mumbai Indians would have to the form of Quinton de Kock who smashed four 4’s and a six in the 16 balls he faced, runs for Yuvraj Singh, and a valuable contribution from Krunal Pandya down the order.
The big concerns are going to be the injury to Jasprit Bumrah and the form of its bowlers. The injury to Jasprit Bumrah is going to keep him out of the upcoming match for certain and make it necessary to change the playing combination.
In some good news, it appears that Lasith Malinga is going to be available for the Mumbai Indians for the next two matches before he goes back to play some domestic cricket at home. His inclusion will likely mean Ben Cutting or Mitchell McClenaghan missing out. Since McClenaghan bowled well in the previous match, Ben Cutting is the more likely option.
Since Ben Cutting was the sixth bowling option for Mumbai Indians and batting at number 8, his replacement could be a batsman or bowler depending upon the conditions.
Mumbai Indians have an excellent batting lineup with players like Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, and the two Pandya brothers. The form of Suryakumar Yadav and the consistency of Yuvraj Singh would be the big worries for Mumbai in this department but one match is too soon to make any assumptions.
Rasikh Salam got a chance to make his debut for the Mumbai Indians in the previous match and did not impress us much. He may get another chance in this match now that Jasprit Bumrah is injured and the side is already short of fast-bowling options.
The Mumbai Indians are not yet close to finding their right playing combination. They have the match winners in their side to win but the lack of stability in the camp could be a big hurdle to overcome.
Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, SA Yadav, Y Singh, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, MJ Mcclenaghan, Lasith Malinga, Mayank Markande, JJ Bumrah.

The IPL 2019 match between RCB and MI is going to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The weather forecast for the match is very good and we don’t anticipate any rain on match day.
This is going to be the first IPL 2019 match in Bengaluru and so the pitch is a bit of an unknown. We expect to see a good batting surface that is going to allow a high-scoring match to be played out. Defending totals has traditionally been difficult in Bengaluru and the spinners have started to come to the fore in more recent matches.
Let's look at some of the recommended Dream 11 picks for RCb vs MI.
The Chinnaswamy stadium is a small ground and can see some really big scores. All of the batsmen we have picked have the ability to make massive contributions to the total.
Wicket Keeper: There are four options being shown by Dream 11 but the real choice is just between two: Quinton de Kock and Parthiv Patel. The work behind the stumps is pretty similar and more weight has to be given to the batting abilities of these two. De Kock is the clear choice by a mile.
Batsmen: This was a difficult one because of the number of options available. We have decided to splurge and get some of the biggest names in T20 cricket. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers, and Kieron Pollard are the players we have chosen in our team for this match. Pollard has been smashing runs in T20 leagues around the world and he is going to be owned by fewer people until he does something like that in IPL 2019. Having him in your side is a big advantage. We would not name him captain, though, because he bats too low and sometimes may not get a run at all.
For captain, we are choosing AB de Villiers and for vice-captain, we like Virat Kohli.
All-rounders: Moeen Ali is another top order batsman that clears boundaries with ease and is always going to be in play with his bowling. Krunal Pandya played very well in the opening match and as a spinner can be expected to play a major role with the ball in this upcoming match.
Bowlers: Lasith Malinga is expected to start for Mumbai Indians in this match but we don't think Mitchell McClenaghan is going to make way either. Both these bowlers are genuine wicket-takers. We have been forced to keep a tight budget for the last two picks and this is why we have gone for Mohammad Siraj and Nitin Saini. They should both find a place in the playing eleven and be useful point scorers.

Neither of the two sides in this match is well settled right now. RCB, though, seems to have more match winners in its side. Its batting appears to be stronger and certainly has more six-hitting options. They are also going to have home advantage on their side which has proved to be a significant factor in the past.
Back RCB to win.
