The Royal Challengers Bangalore ended up losing their previous match to the Delhi Capitals and are now officially out of the running for a playoff spot in IPL 2019. With just four wins from their twelve matches, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team is at the bottom spot in the league standings and has only pride to play for.
Their remaining two matches could act as spoilers for other teams. They play against the Rajasthan Royals in this match and against the Sunrisers in their last encounter. Both those teams can currently make it to the playoffs.
The Rajasthan Royals are in exactly the same position that the Royal Challengers Bangalore were in. There is no room to make a mistake and they must win their remaining two matches. The Rajasthan Royals have won five out of their twelve matches and sit just above Bangalore on the league table.
RCB vs RR IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
One of the things that have affected the Royal Challengers Bangalore campaign has been their inability to win tosses. Virat Kohli has lost nine out of the eleven tosses and that has meant that the Royal Challengers are always fighting with the conditions as well.
We hope that Kohli’s luck will change at the ICC World Cup 2019!
There are no excuses to be made for the poor performances of the Royal Challengers, though. The team management has repeatedly refused to adapt and make the changes required to win matches. Marcus Stoinis batted at number 7 in the previous match and was not allowed to open even once.
Henrich Klaasen is another player that is far more comfortable opening the batting but he was not given a chance to do that either. Poor selection of players where the squad has been filled with overseas batsmen and not enough bowling options has resulted in an unbalanced playing eleven.
An injury to Dale Steyn and the return of Moeen Ali to England has also hurt the Royal Challengers in their campaign. Now, in their final two matches of IPL 2019, both to be played at home, the situation remains the same.
If one of Virat Kohli or AB de Villiers gets going then beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore is difficult. If they both get out cheaply then Bengaluru just does not have the quality in its remaining players to compete.
From a betting perspective, this is the biggest risk. The Rajasthan bowling attack has been doing better in the recent matches but is that going to be enough to stop these two batting giants? The bowling for the Royal Challengers Bangalore has been very poor and finding a combination that works for the side has been difficult.
Parthiv Patel, V Kohli, Heinrich Klaasen, GR Singh Mann, AB de Villiers, Marcus Stoinis, Pawan Negi, Umesh Yadav, NA Saini, K Khejroliya, YS Chahal.
The Rajasthan Royals have put in two excellent bowling performances to help their team win their previous two matches. The addition of Varun Aaron to the side seems to have done wonders as he is bowling with intelligence and making life difficult for the opposition.
This is going to be the last match that Steve Smith is going to be playing for the Rajasthan Royals and he really could not have asked to play on a better batting surface than at Bengaluru. In fact, the entire top-order of the Rajasthan Royals will be keen to put in a strong batting performance.
Ajinkya Rahane is batting with freedom and is a genuine threat to all teams. What a difference a change in mindset can make! Rahane has transformed from struggling to get bat on ball to dominating bowling attacks like he used to.
Rajasthan does not have the same kind of big names in its side that the Royal Challengers do. Liam Livingstone, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, and Ashton Turner are good players but neither of them is going to be counted as among the best T20 batsmen of IPL 2019.
This means that the chances of brilliant individual performances winning the match for Rajasthan are lesser. The side also does not have great depth in its batting. Riyan Parag, Stuart Binny, and Shreyas Gopal are talented players but once again, this is not a lower order that is going to scare any opponents.
For Rajasthan to win, a team effort is required. They will need most of its front-line batsmen to score runs and contribute. The form of Liam Livingstone would have gladdened the heart of the Rajasthan fans. He looked in good rhythm and was hitting the ball well. If Ashton Turner can also regain his batting form then the Rajasthan Royals have a chance of winning.
The bowling led by Varun Aaron, Shreyas Gopal, Oshane Thomas, and Jayadev Unadkat is not looking too bad at the moment. Rajasthan will definitely come into this match believing it can win.
Ajinkya Rahane, Liam Livingstone, SV Samson, Steven Smith, Riyan Parag, STR Binny, Mahipal Lomror, S Gopal, JD Unadkat, VR Aaron, Oshane Thomas.
The team winning the toss is likely to want to bat second. There is a small threat of rain which could help tilt the conditions even more in favor of the chasing side.

RCB vs RR IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. There are some coulds around Bengaluru and some rain is expected to interrupt the proceedings on match day. Weather if famously unreliable in Bengaluru, though, and we could get lucky with the rain. At worst, a short shower is all that is expected at the moment.
The pitch at the Chinnaswamy has been very good for batting. The ball has come on to the bat nicely and there is some bounce for the bowlers to take advantage of as well. A high-scoring match is definitely the norm here.
The Dream 11 team for the Royal Challengers Bangalore versus Rajasthan Royals match offers some good opportunities to help differentiate your side without taking too many risks in our opinion. We have tried to include the star-performers and some value players in the lineup alongside.
Wicketkeeper: Both Sanju Samson and Parthiv Patel have been in good form. They both bat at the top of the batting order and will get plenty of opportunities to score points. Parthiv Patel scores consistent thirties and forties but rarely even goes beyond that while Sanju Samson can hit hundreds when he gets going. This is why we have picked Samson.
Batsmen: Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Ajinkya Rahane are the obvious choices here. All three of them are in good form and deserve the high number of points at which they go for. We also expect them to be in most Dream 11 teams. Our remaining two batsmen are Ashton Turner and Liam Livingstone. The small dimensions of the ground and good batting pitch should suit both these batsmen very well. They are going to be lesser popular picks than the other and can help make a big difference in the final ranking.
All-rounders: We have picked Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube from this category. There were other tempting options like Marcus Stoinis, Stuart Binny, and Riyan Parag to choose from as well. The bowling capability of Sundar and the six-hitting potential of Dube won us over.
Bowlers: We have picked the in-form Varun Aaron and Shryas Gopal in our side. Gopal has an excellent record against Kohli and de Villiers. That alone should be reason enough to pick him. Yuzvendra Chahal is our third bowler. He has been expensive in IPL 2019 but is always among the wickets.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have chosen Ajinkya Rahane as captain and Sanju Samson as our vice-captain for this match.

Teams which do not have anything to play for often lose motivation and see a drop in their performances. It is going to be tough for the Royal Challengers Bangalore side to play at the same intensity that they were in the last few games. Rajasthan Royals have everything to play for and have been in good recent form as well.
The resurgence of Ajinkya Rahane, the bowling form of Varun Aaron, and a few talented overseas batsmen that have been waiting for their chance makes the Rajasthan Royals a very dangerous team.
Bet on the Rajasthan Royals to win.
