The Royal Challengers endured a horrible start to the season as they lost each of their first 5 matches of the season and were on the verge of getting knocked out. However, the team scripted a comeback of sorts to win their next 2 matches. However, it is a bit too little too late for RCB as they cannot catch up with the UP Warriorz even if they win here.

Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine have been the most consistent performers with the bat of the Royal Challengers this season and both have scored 2 half-centuries so far. Devine scored a blistering 99 of just 36 deliveries in RCB's latest outing as they chased down a record target of 185 with more than 4 overs to spare. Smriti Mandhana got a good start in that match but yet again failed to convert it into a big inning.

Heather Knight, Kanika Ahuja, and Richa Ghosh have done a decent job so far lower down the order and the team will depend on them to put up a late attack on the opposition bowlers.

The bowlers haven’t been up to the mark for the Royal Challengers this season. Their most experienced seamer, Megan Schutt, has got just 3 wickets in her 6 outings and has been very expensive. She conceded 53 runs in 4 overs in the match against the Giants, which was the most expensive spell in her T20 career.

While Preeti Bose and Shreyanka Patil have bowled some decent spells, the lack of big-stage experience makes them crumble under pressure. With the batters stepping up to the challenge, much will now rely on the performance of the bowlers in this match.

Mumbai Indians Women

The journey of the Mumbai Indians Women has been the polar opposite of that of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. After winning their first 5 matches on the trot, the MI Women have faltered a bit and have lost 2 consecutive games. They now have an equal number of points as the Delhi Capitals Women, who have a better NRR compared to them and will need to win this match to regain the top spot on the points table.

The success of the Mumbai Indians Women has largely been powered by the all-rounders in the team. Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Amelia Kerr have contributed well with the bat as well as the ball. Harmanpreet Kaur has led the team from the front and is the top run-getter for the team with 228 runs.

The presence of Pooja Vastrakar, Issy Wong, and Amanjot Kaur adds depth to the Indians’ batting. Saika Ishaque has been consistent with the ball and has picked up 12 wickets so far. Along with Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews, the trio has rattled a lot of opposition batters.

Issy Wong will lead the pace attack none again and has bowled some good spells so far. However, the form of Jintimani Kalita and Humaira Kazi remains a cause of concern.
