Kolkata Knight Riders
Gambhir led from the front as he partnered with Manish Pandey in the chase for 169 runs against Mumbai Indians and posted a 98-run second wicket stand; Suryakumar Yadav was also brilliant as he scored a quick 46 off 20 to take the team safely home with 9 balls to spare. The bowlers however weren’t as sharp and gave away too many easy runs; Morne Morkel and Shakib Al Hasan were among the wicket takers but the latter proved to be very expensive along with the likes of Umesh Yadav. They will need to be more disciplined against the RCB team which has hard-hitters like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers to name a few. Robin Uthappa needs to deliver results at the top order while the all-rounders will play a crucial role again; the bowlers are looking good to get wickets regularly and if they can gel as a unit, they can make life difficult for any opposition.
Royal Challengers Bangalore

On the bowling front, they have Mitchell Starc who has been the highest wicket taker in the world cup and will be firing from all cylinders; Varun Aaron, Sean Abbott, Abu Nechim, Chahal, Ashok Dinda and all-rounders like Sammy, David Wiese, Nic Maddinson and Mandeep Singh will need to step up and perform well here. Kohli will certainly inspire his mates by doing a good job with the bat; overall, the team is hungry to taste success at the IPL and this season might just see this team rising up to expectations.
KKR has won its first match and are looking very confident now especially with the support of the home crowd; RCB on the other hand will be motivated to transform recent individual successes into a team performance as they look ahead to better times this season. Although KKR has the home advantage, we feel that RCB’s match-winners will take the side to a close victory on Saturday.
