It will be a battle between the RCB power-packed batting line-up and the fiery pace attack of the Sunrisers; both teams have strong all-rounders who can pull the team out of dire straits. Royal Challengers Bangalore
Against Lions, the bowlers putting up a tremendous show as Watson, Abdulla, Jordan and Chahal restricted the opposition to a lowly 158 runs. However, the chase saw trouble in the top-order as Gayle, Kohli, Rahul and Watson were all dismissed with the scoreboard at 4-28 within the 5th over. It was AB de Villiers who shouldered the burden of carrying the team to victory with a spectacular 79 off 47 that included 5 sixes and an equal number of boundaries. Binny contributed with 21 and Abdulla held his nerve to score a much-needed 33 from 25 to help ABD win the match.
Kohli and AB de Villiers have been the top scorers this year and their heroics took the team to the top-four stage coming right from the bottom of the table. Gayle, Watson, Rahul, Binny, Sachin Baby and Abdulla too are in good form to keep the scoreboard ticking; they must focus on building a strong foundation whether batting first or during chase.
The bowling department has the stupendous all-rounder Shane Watson, who can easily gun down the opponents with his clever medium pace variations; Abdulla, Jordan and Chahal have been providing quick breakthroughs while Aravind and Binny add depth to the attack. Overall, they are a strong unit that has proven a formidable force to reckon with in front of their home crowd.
David Warner led from the front and his stunning 93 off 58 saw the team chase down 163 runs successfully to remain in the hunting; at a time when the other batsmen like Dhawan, Yuvraj Singh and Hooda fell cheaply for single digits, Warner kept his cool and battered the opposition bowlers. Bipul Sharma’s well-made 27 from just 11 balls helped Sunrisers win the match in the nick of time.
The seamers are in very good form as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Cutting and Trent Boult took 5 wickets between them to restrict the hard-hitting Lions; Sran and Henriques have been regularly taking wickets and will surely come out with all their firepower. Bipul Sharma and Yuvraj provide the spin options and they can definitely pull out some tricks here against Kohli and company.
This is a well-balanced side with batsmen who can punch the opponents and in-form bowlers, who can put up a deadly attack to stifle RCB; they need to be cautious and execute the strategy well.
Both teams have never won the title and they will leave no stone unturned to cross the finish line this year; As has been the case in the tournament so far, toss can play a crucial role once again. RCB and SRH will fight till the end and the contest could go down to the wire but we feel that the hosts with their powerful batting are clear favorites to win the IPL finals 2016
