About the Match
Winning their opening match against KKR by 3 wickets, Royal Challengers Bangalore earned2 points and will go up against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 13th April at Bangalore. RCB had failed to perform in the last three seasons of the IPL but are looking a strong and steady unit which can turn the table in few overs. SRH on the other hand are one of the most aggressive T20 teams this season and are ready to attack the opposition with all their armour; the match will surely be very interesting and the team that can dominate the other right from the first ball will triumph on Monday.
They too have an aggressive batting line-up until No. 5, which is a big advantage over other teams. Although they lost their first match against CSK by 45 runs, there were some impressive performances. David Warner is an explosive opening batsman and can take the game away in a whisker; his 53 off 42 against CSK was promising but apart from Shikhar Dhawan, who posted 26 off 18 and continues to look good in this slam-bang format, the others couldn’t hold the fort. Bopara and Williamson tried to stabilize the innings but the target of 210 was just too much for them. On the bowling front, except for Trent Boult, who took the lone wicket against CSK, others like Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Pervez Rasool failed to make a mark. They do have international quality bowling attack but they must collectively deliver if they want to challenge other teams and keep their hopes alive this season.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Two time runners-up, RCB is hoping for the best upshot this time around as they have a strong batting line-up; Chris Gayle’s match-winning and thunderous 96 off 56 against hosts KKR gave the team their first win this season. AB de Villiers posted a good knock of 28 off 13 and will be a great asset in the upcoming games long with Virat Kohli’s aggressive approach. Chris Gayle, who is the only player to score more than seven tons in T20s is one of the most feared batsmen while the bowlers, who took regular wickets to restrict the opponents to 177 runs on Saturday are looking extremely confident. RCB has overseas bowlers Mitchell Starc and Adam Milne, who were more than impressive in the World Cup and overall they have the strength and necessary fire-power to overcome any situation and win the upcoming match to continue with their momentum.
It will be a tough fight between the two teams as both sides have strong top order batsmen and bowlers, who can deliver with the ball. RCB with a win to its name will be eager to continue with their rhythm while SRH also has enough strength to beat RCB if they can strategize and execute well; however, with the home advantage we feel that Royal Challengers will win the upcoming match.
