Boland

The Boland Rocks' top-order batting will be handled by the likes of Pieter Malan and Janneman Malan. Their middle order will be manned by the batters Michael Copeland, Leus du Plooy, Christiaan Jonker, and Valentine Kitime. The Boland bowling attack is in the hands of bowlers such as Achille Cloete, Khwezi Gumede, Imaran Manack, Bamanye Xenxe, and Hardus Viljoen. There are several good all-rounders in the Rocks' ranks such as Shaun von Berg, Ferisco Adams, Farhaan Behardien, and the wicketkeeper-batsman Clyde Fortuin.

The Boland rocks outfit played their last game against the Lions. This match ended in a draw. Batting first the Lions team put together a good score on the board of 421 runs. Boland made a disastrous start to their batting efforts as they were bowled out for 93 runs. Only the opening batsman Stiaan van Zyl could make a decent contribution with 59 runs with 6 fours. None of the other batters offered much resistance as Bjorn Fortuin and company ran through the Rocks' batting order to reduce it to a pulp. 

Boland replied to this terrible first-inning effort with a much better reply in the second innings after being followed on. They lost an early wicket in the second inning with their top batter Pieter Malan getting out early to Codi Yusuf. But after that, the first innings hero Stiaan van Zyl and Clyde Fortuin did not allow the Lions bowlers another whiff at the Boland batting. Van Zyl remained not out with 106 runs on the board from 184 balls with as many as 17 fours and Fortuin who is the captain of the side made 83 not out with 9 fours.

Knights

Unlike Boland Rocks who are heading into this game with 3 draws in a row, the Knights are going into this game with a win over the Warriors. In this 20th game of the competition, the Knights recorded a win by 161 runs. Batting first, the Knights scored 422 runs all out. The Warriors could not make a suitable reply as they were bowled out for 134 runs in their first inning. But they did put up a good show with the ball in the Knights' second inning by restricting them to a score of 157 runs. However, the big deficit in the first innings meant they were faced with an uphill task of scoring 446 runs to win the game. They were bowled out for 284 runs in the second innings.

The Knights' first innings was marked by several good contributions from the middle order and lower middle order. None of their batters went on to score a hundred but many players made good contributions to the team's score. Patrick Kruger scored 81 runs with 15 fours and the wicketkeeper-batsman Gihahn Cloete scored a superb 93 from 133 balls with 15 fours. Many other batters made contributions such as Pite van Biljorn scoring 48 runs, and Patrick Botha and Aubrey Swanepoel scoring 30 runs each. Even the Knights bowlers contributed to the total with Nealan van Heerden and Nhlakanipho Mpungose scoring 36 and 32 runs each.

The Warriors' first innings was over really quickly as Patrick Kruger bowled with a lot of fire for the Knights picking up 5 wickets for 21 runs. Almost all the other bowlers chipped in with wickets as the Warriors were bundled out for 134 runs in their first innings. Knights could not maintain the same tempo in their second innings as they were bowled out for 157 runs. Migael Pretorius was the top run-getter for them with 46 runs. However, Knights batters had done a good enough job in their first innings to ensure that they had sufficient runs to defend in the 4th innings of the match on a wearing track.
