South Africa

In their last game, the South Africans had to face a disappointing fate as they had to face weather affected match against Zim. South Africa looked to be well and truly on course to victory when the rains came down and spoiled all their plans. After having to share points in this game, Bavuma and his men will be keen for a big win in this match. They do have a set of good players in their ranks and will be looking for a big victory in this match. During the last game, we saw Quinton de Kock playing a terrific knock.

Quinton de Kock will be looking to continue the good work from the last game here together with the skipper Bavuma. These two will try and set up a big partnership right up front. Aiden Markram, Rilee Rossouw, and David Miller form a very good middle order for the proteas. These batters without a doubt will try and push up the scoring rate when their turn at the crease arrives. As far as the South African lower order is concerned the team will be expecting to get runs out of people such as Wayne Parnell and Tristan Stubbs.

Wayne Parnell and Kagiso Rabada will be looking to lead the pace bowling attack for South Africa. They are both good bowlers and will be keen on providing early blows for South Africa to put Bangladesh under pressure while using the new ball. they will be supported by Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi who come in and hit the deck hard. They are capable of bowling tight lines during the middle overs and will be tough to get away from. Another bowler that will enjoy the conditions at the SCG is Keshav Maharaj. He will be bowling with Markram in this match.  

Bangladesh

The Bangladesh outfit is being led by the experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in this world cup. They made a promising start to the competition by winning their first match. The Bangla side did a good job against the Netherlands while defending a small total. They won the match by a slender margin of 9 runs in the end. However, they are up against much stronger opposition in this game in the form of South Africa. Shakib will be looking to get all his players to do well against this South African outfit that has a powerful bowling attack.

In the batting department, Soumya Sarkar and Najmul Hossain Shanto will be keen to provide a confident start to the innings in this match. Both these batters got a start in their game against the Netherlands. Other batters such as Shakib, Afif Hossain, and Litton Das have all been a bit inconsistent. Yet this trio in the middle order has to stand up against the strong South African bowling unit in this match. The Bangla lower middle order will be in the hands of Nurul Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, and Yasir Ali.

During the last match, the heartening thing for Bangladesh was the performance of their bowling attack. They are going to have to be up for the task in this game. Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed will be looking to put breaks on the South African scoring rate, especially with the new ball. Shakib Al Hasan is an experienced bowler and has a significant role to play in the fortune of the Bangladesh cricket team. Apart from this, they will also need good contributions from the bowlers such as Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, and Mustafizur Rahman.
