South Africa vs England T20 series got off to an incredible start as the match went right down to the wire. Both the teams seemed to have the upper hand at different times in the match but in the end, we think South Africa would consider itself lucky to have come out on the winning side.
England lost wickets during the end and could not provide the finishing blow.
There is a lot of room for improvement in the performance of both the sides, though and with the series on the line, the pressure is only going to get more intense. England may end up making a few changes to its playing eleven as it seeks to get the balance right while South Africa could continue with the same set of players in this match.
South Africa vs England 2nd T20 2020 is going to be played at Kingsmead, Durban on the 14th of February 2020.
It was a new look side that walked out for South Africa in the first T20 and it was clear the captain Quinton de Kock was making his mark on the team. Temba Bavuma opened the batting with Quinton de Kock followed by Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, and the three all-rounders.
We are not sure how long this strategy is going to succeed or whether this is even the plan while playing outside South Africa but it was good to see something different from the Proteas.
De Kock got off the side to a great start before getting out. His cameo was instrumental in giving the other batsmen a little bit of a cushion at the top of the inning. Temba Bavuma top-scored with 43 but he is not the typical opening batsman in this format of the game.
If de Kock gets out early then the pressure on the other batsmen is going to increase rapidly.
We all know what David Miller is capable of in T20 cricket and it is good to see him at number four. JJ Smuts, Dwaine Pretorius, and Andile Phehlukwayo gives South Africa a nice powerful lower middle-order and some decent depth to work with as well.
Beuran Hendricks and Lungi Ngidi were the best bowlers for South Africa in the previous match. Tabraiz Shamsi was economical but did not get a wicket and Dale Steyn was average on his return to international cricket.
South Africa has put together a versatile group of players that need a bit more experience to become a formidable unit. We are just concerned about their top-order batting strength.
Quinton de Kock, David Miller, RVD Dussen, Temba Bavuma, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, JJT Smuts, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi, B Hendricks, Bjorn Fortuin.
Jason Roy and Eoin Morgan almost bludgeoned South Africa into submission but a rash of wickets during the last five overs prevented the visitors from getting over the line. England would be very disappointed in the manner in which its middle-order fared.
Players like Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, and Joe Denly are genuine batsmen capable of batting at any position in the team. Moeen Ali’s inability to get bat on ball during the last over was the most conscious lapse but there were others made leading up to it as well.
The positives will be the form that Roy and Morgan showed. We though Jos Buttler looked very good at the top of the batting order and could be one to watch out in the upcoming match. Buttler is freakishly consistent while opening the batting in T20 cricket and will love the batting conditions at Durban.
Jonny Bairstow was clearly short of confidence and struggling to get momentum in his inning.
On the bowling side, it was rare to see Tom Curran get smashed around the park. Chris Jordan was spectacular with his death bowling while Adil Rashid was dangerous in the middle. Mark Wood also bowled with real pace and is going to be a handful every time he comes on to bowl.
The underlying strength of this England side is undeniable and it is just a matter of getting the small things right. A one-run defeat is going to be tough for England to take but it is not going to shake their confidence too much.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first because defending can be quite tough at Kingsmead, Durban.

The weather in Durban is expected to be very good for the day of the match. Durban is consistently one of the highest-scoring venues in South Africa for white-ball cricket. The ball comes on very nicely to the bat and the outfield is very fast. The bowlers will get some bounce but that is about it.
Spinners who can get some top-spin on their deliveries are successful.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 prediction for South Africa vs England 2nd T20 2020
We think England is going to strike back hard at South Africa in this match. The surface is another one that its batsmen should enjoy and the variety in the bowling attack gives it an edge as well. South Africa is not going to be easy to beat but it is still a bit under-matched against this strong England side.
Bet on England to win.
