England won the first T20 thanks to a brilliant inning from Jonny Bairstow but South Africa pushed it to the brink. The difference between the two teams was pretty small and there was not much that separated them in the end.
The action now shifts to Paarl as both the teams will be hoping for minor improvements to their take game to the next level.
Can a young and rebuilding South African team continue to challenge what is perhaps the best white-ball team in the world right now?
South Africa vs England 2nd T20 2020 is going to be played at Boland Park, Paarl on the 29th of November 2020.
South Africa batted pretty well in the previous match to get to 179 on a surface that was not the best. Quinton de Kock got 30, Faf du Plessis got 58, and Rassie van der Dussen got some runs too but no one really went on for a big one like Jonny Baitrstow did later.
That is something that South Africa would like to rectify in this upcoming match.
We also thought they lacked a bit of hitting power and experience in the lower half of their team. George Linde made his debut and looked to be a good all-rounder but he is still an unproven quantity.
The bulk of the runs have to come from the top-order.
The bowling by South Africa also left a lot to be desired. Beuran Hendricks kept on serving up full-tosses and half-volleys on a surface where the ball should have been dug in and ended up paying the price.
George Linde and Tabraiz Shamsi were perhaps the most effective of the bowlers while Kagiso Rabada bowled very well too.
Anrich Nortje, who bowled so well in the IPL, and possesses raw pace must surely find a place in the playing eleven for the next match.
Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, RVD Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen, George Linde, Reeza Hendricks, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi, Anrich Nortje.
The might of England is such that it can get away without playing its best cricket. Neither the bowling nor the batting were up to scratch for England in the previous match. We think the pressure must be increasing on Jason Roy now as he continues to remain inconsistent for long periods of time.
England has so much batting depth and options at its disposal that Roy can be replaced without missing a beat.
Jason Roy, Joss Buttler, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan, and the all-rounders make a pretty formidable batting lineup.
England went with the Curran brothers, Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan, and Adil Rashid as its bowling attack. Ben Stokes did not bowl at all and that could be perhaps a sign of a slight niggle that he is carrying.
There were too many full-tosses, missed lengths, and leg-side deliveries. A team of the class of England expects better and we think it will make the adjustments necessary.
Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, BA Stokes, Eoin Morgan, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan, AU Rashid.
The wicket in Paarl should be better for batting and so chasing might be the way to go for both the teams once more. Expect the team that wins the toss to want to field first.

The conditions in Paarl are going to be better for batting than in Cape Town. The weather is going to be excellent and the pitch is pretty flat from everything we know. That may play into the hands of the English team that has a stronger batting lineup and can bat South Africa out of the match.
A score of around 180 may be seen as par for the surface.

South Africa has shown us that it is not going to be a pushover for England. Expect it to come hard at England, however, the depth in talent on the English side is just too much. There are world-class batsmen stacked over each other and an excellent bowling attack to balance things out as well.
We think England can take the series right here.
Bet on England to win.
Jason Roy is someone we most often bet against. His inconsistency is pretty dependable and even though there are matches where he scores big, he is going to get out cheaply most of the time. 21.5 is a big enough margin to allow for a few edges or the odd brilliant shot but looking at the manner in which he perished in the first match, this could be a safe bet for you.
Paarl is expected to be a batting belter and we have no doubt that plenty of sixes are going to be hit. Even if one batsman from either side gets a big score, this total of 11.5 sixes is going to be obliterated with ease.
There is just too much batting talent on both sides to let this easy money go.
