Pakistan completed its highest ever T20 international chase as it won the first T20 against South Africa thanks to some very impressive performances. South Africa played very well also and did quite well considering it was missing some of its best players for this match.
There are three more matches in this series and so while it is not quite ‘do or die’ yet, South Africa has to try and get a win under its belt or a comeback is going to be very difficult. For Pakistan, this is an excellent opportunity to push for another win and continue to dominate South Africa at home.
South Africa vs Pakistan 2nd T20 2021 is going to be played at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on the 12th of April 2021.
A very good batting performance from South Africa saw it score 188 in the first match. That may have not proved to be a winning total but the fact that most of its leading batsmen got runs would have made it feel quite good.
Aiden Markram is far too good a player to be playing at the success rate that he has been. He finally converted his start into a half-century and promises so much more for the future. Heinrich Klaasen’s was the inning of the match and the one that provided the momentum in the middle.
Janneman Malan is a player that is very comfortable in the international arena and he got a very good start once more. We think he could be in for a big one soon. Wihan Lubbe was the only one that missed out but he is also another dangerous batsman.
A couple of early wickets could set back South Africa as the middle and lower order is missing some much-needed quality and power.
The South African bowling quite underwhelming as it stands. Tabraiz Shamsi and Beuran Hendricks are perhaps the only world-class bowlers with the others being competent at best.
Aiden Markram, Janneman Malan, Heinrich Klaasen, PJ van Biljon, Wihan Lubbe, George Linde, Andile Phehlukwayo, SSB Magala, B Hendricks, Lizaad Williams, Tabraiz Shamsi.
Pakistan seems to have discovered a veritable superstar in Mohammad Rizwan when it comes to T20 cricket. This is was the tenth consecutive score of 50 plus in the format, something totally unheard of, to be honest.
Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, and Haider Ali all got starts but did not convert it into anything special. This is why it is so impressive that Pakistan was able to chase down the biggest target it has ever chased in t20 cricket without most of its leading batsmen contributing.
Faheemplayed a very good knock at the end of the inning to get his side home showcasing the depth in this lineup. There also seems to be an effort by Pakistan to be more aggressive from the very start, a welcome change and a sign that it is moving into the modern era of batsmanship.
The Pakistani bowling is superb and is much better than the South Africans. Hasan Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, and Haris Rauf were the pick of the bowlers in the previous match but you do not want to count out Shaheen Afridi either.
There is so much quality here that we feel it is a matter of time before they get some early wickets in a match and knock South Africa over completely.
Mohammad Rizwan, Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Haider Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Qadir, Mohammad Hasnain.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. Johannesburg has always been a ground where it is difficult to defend totals and so the team that wins the toss has a decent advantage.

The conditions in Johannesburg are expected to be very good for cricket once more. The pitch should be fast, even, and with a decent amount of bounce. The ball travels quickly to the boundary and into the stands thanks to the thin atmosphere.
Another high-scoring match where 180 should be seen as the bare minimum batting first looks likely.
We are going to back Pakistan to win this second match as well. The team has a better bowling attack and its batting has improved quite a lot as well. Pakistan played average cricket and won the first match. We think it could crush South Africa once it hits top gear.
Bet on Pakistan to win.
