RSAW vs AUSW Match Prediction - Feb 18, 2023

There’s no doubt that Australia vs. South Africa is going to be one of the most exciting matchups of the entire tournament. Australia barely needs any introduction and they are clearly the favourites to win the women’s T20 World Cup, as they’ve crushed their opponents in all three matches so far.

South Africa has been doing okay with one victory and one loss, but here’s a feisty and talented team that has the chance to reach the Final.

RSAW vs AUSW Team Previews

South Africa Women

As hosts of the T20 World Cup, South Africa has pride on the line to succeed in this event. It was strange to leave Dane van Niekerk off the squad, but Sune Luus and Chloe Tryon have stepped up wonderfully. Both have scored exactly 50 runs in total, which isn’t much considering, but it’s a good start.

We had higher hopes for batter Laura Wolvaardt, as many believed she would be the best player for South Africa, but she’s only made 31 runs. Her success as a batter might be the key to victory.

Nonkululeko Mlaba and Marizanne Kapp have been the star bowlers so far and each has a total of three wickets, but they’re giving up more runs than they should. If this can be improved and they get help from the other bowlers, then a victory can be possible. Australia is no joke to play against, but South Africa is scrappy and fights until the end.

South Africa Women Playing 11

Laura Wolvaardt, Tazmin Brits, Marizanne Kapp, Sune Luus, Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, Delmi Tucker, Sinalo Jafta, Shabnim Ismail, Masabata Klaas, Nonkululeko Mlaba.

Australia Women

Australia is dominating the event like everyone thought they would, and no match so far has tested them at all. This challenge against South Africa may well be the first to make them weary and they’ll be careful about their form on the day.

Alyssa Healy is the current leading run-scorer of the World Cup with 146, thanks largely to her high score of 55 runs against New Zealand. Lanning has been solid with 89 total runs, although we’re a bit surprised at Beth Mooney’s 58 total runs, as she was regarded as arguably the best batter in the entire tournament before it started.

Oz has performed brilliantly with the ball as well, with Megan Schutt leading all bowlers with seven total wickets and a 5.30 ER. Ashleigh Gardner isn’t far behind with six wickets and is controlling the overs incredibly well, not forgetting her outstanding 5/12 against New Zealand.

This pitch is often said to be bowling friendly due to the movement and bounce, so it could be a low-scoring game.

RSAW vs AUSW Betting Tips

It’s obvious that Oz is the favourite to win this match because of the sheer amount of talent throughout the entire eleven players, but from a betting standpoint, it’s barely worth it.

The Mostbet odds are so low because of how good Australia is, so it’s better to make a bet on South Africa due to the chance of a great return. SA is a good team that can confront Australia, but they need more from Luus, Tryon, Mlaba, and Kapp to pick up the victory. If Australia folds under pressure, then you never know what might happen.

Bet on South Africa to win.
