With so many T20 matches being played over this weekend, this is going to be a busy Sunday for cricket fans across the globe. For fans who follow women's cricket, there's a treat up for grabs as Pakistan women take on South African women in the third match of the five-match T20I series between the two teams. Just like it was in ODI series, South Africa bounced back after losing the opening match of the series. With series now leveled at 1-1, the third match is of massive importance where both the sides and both sides will be looking to win this encounter and take the advantage forward into the series.
It's been a see-saw home tour for the Protean women. They somehow managed to win the ODI series after being behind and the same trend has so far followed them in the T20Is as well. They lost the first match and bounced back strongly in the second match of the series.
Put into the field first after losing the toss, South African women could not get quick breakthroughs but ensured no free runs for the Pakistan women which resulted in elevated pressure in the middle overs. Marizanne Kapp and Ismail kept things tight in the earlier overs which were thereafter utilized by Sekhukhune, Klass, and Luus to rock Pakistan during the death overs as they restricted them to just 128.
Considering how South African women failed to reach even a respectable score in the opening match, chasing the score of 128 wasn't perceived to be easy. However, Lizelle Lee looked in a fantastic mood as she smashed a wonderful fifty and played the sheet anchor's role to perfection and along with useful assistance from Marizanne Kapp, she laid down a perfect foundation to chase down the total with eight wickets in hand.

While Pakistan have surely punched above their weight in the tournament so far, they have, by and large, failed to cease the key moments in all the matches they lost thus far. After winning the first T20I, the Pakistani women were looking a strong unit, but a rather irresponsible performance by their batsmen in the second match has left their fans wondering.
Winning the toss and batting first, Pakistan started off on a decent note with Javeria Rouf and Umaima Sohail adding 36 runs for the opening wicket. Their skipper, Bismah Maroof, played a blinder of an innings as she scored 63 runs off just 47 balls to somehow take their total to 128.
Considering how their bowlers bowled in the last match, Pakistan would have started the second innings confidently. However, their bowlers lacked discipline in the earlier overs which allowed the likes of Marizanne Kapp and Lizelle Lee to settle down and kill the chase.
Javeria Khan, Omaima Sohail, Bismah Maroof, Nida Dar, Iram Javed, Aliya Riaz, Sana Mir, Sidra Nawaz, Kainat Imtiaz, Ramin Shamim, Nashra Sandhu.

This series between South African women and Pakistan women has been extremely well fought, probably the closest of all the series played in the recent times. Pakistan started the series on a high but failed to build on the momentum. South Africa, on the other hand, came back to their ruthless best in the last game. They are certainly a better side between the two sides, at least on paper, and with the momentum they have and the home advantage, they are better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming fixture.
