For the second match in a row, The Pakistani women played very well and ran South Africa close. They were, however, unable to get over the line and suffered their second consecutive loss.
We don’t think South Africa is going to make the mistake of taking Pakistan lightly after these two matches but a 3-0 scoreline would definitely be on its mind. The standard of cricket was much better in the second game as compared to the first.
It is a shame that Pakistan is missing one of its best players in Bismah Maroof otherwise we could have possibly seen something very special.
South Africa Women vs Pakistan Women 3rd ODI 2021 is going to be played at Kingsmead, Durban on the 26th of January 2021.
Almost all of South Africa’s batters got a start in an improved performance in the previous match. Lizelle Lee scored 47 at the top of the order and Marizanne Kapp continued her great form to top-score with 68 from just 45 balls.
It was her performance that allowed South Africa to get past 250.
Now that most of the batters have got some time in the middle, South Africa women will be even more confident going into the third match.
Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus both got a start but were unable to convert that into something more meaningful. These are two batters that we think could have a big score around the corner.
Ayabonga Khaka picked up four wickets in the previous match and it was surprising to see her miss out in the first match. With Khaka and Ismail in the team, the South Africans have a very good pace bowling lineup.
Marizanne Kapp, Nadine de Klerk, and N Mlaba round out a pretty decent bowling lineup.
Sune Luus, Laura Wolvaardt, Trisha Chetty, Shabnim Ismail, Lizelle Lee, Ayabonga Khaka, Masabata Klaas, Lara Goodall, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Tazmin Brits, Anne Bosch.
Some terrific performances from Aliya Riaz have been the story of the series so far for Pakistan. She was involved in a great partnership with Nida Dar in the first match that took Pakistan within one blow of winning and then top-scored with 81 in the previous match as well.
Nida dar played her part with 51 as well.
These two all-rounders have given Pakistan a lot of depth and resilience, something that will surrey pay dividends down the line.
Omaima Sohail also got some runs to her name but the rest of the top-order has been disappointing. Nahida Khan, Muneeba Ali, and Javeria Khan have all struggled for runs.
If one or two of these batters starts contributing then Pakistan could match South Africa in the batting department.
Diana Baig picked up two wickets in the second match and continued to be the leader of the attack. The rest of the bowlers struggled for control as the pitch seemed to pay a lot better.
Pakistan seems to be a bit weaker than South Africa in the bowling department and is just too dependent on Diana Baig to make an impact.
Javeria Khan, Nahida Khan, Umaima Sohail, Kainat Imtiaz, Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Sidra Nawaz, Fatima Sana, Nashra Sandhu, Diana Baig, Anam Amin.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. Pakistan has lost both its matches chasing and would love a chance to set the target for the first time in this series.

The conditions are expected to be good for cricket and no rain is predicted so far. The pitch has been excellent for batting and we saw it get remarkably better in the second match. The ball should come on to the bat quite nicely and we could be in store for another high-scoring match.
We think South Africa has a great chance of winning this series 3-0. Pakistan has already lost the series and is going to be demotivated coming into this match. It has also played the best it can and failed to win so far while the South Africans have a lot of room for improvement.
