The triangular series between United Arab Emirates, USA, and Scotland has been nothing short of humdinger and that is not because it has featured close contest or something similar, it is because USA has scripted three upsets on the trot. USA walked into the series as the least favorite side among the three and now they have not only won all of their three matches, they've also moved to the top of ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. They'll be up against Scotland for the one final time in the series and will be looking to wrap up their UAE campaign with a win. Scotland, on the other hand, walked in as firm favorites and are yet to win a game.
Scotland haven't really had the time they wanted to have in the series so far. They were defeated by USA in their first encounter of the tour and their second match was washed out due to heavy rain. They are at the second spot on the World Cup League 2 ladder with seven points to their name and although they can no longer claim back the top spot by the end of the series, they'd be striving hard for a win in the upcoming contest.
Scotland are arguably the best team on paper among the three sides playing in the series. They have done incredibly well in recent times in international circuit and their defeat in the second match of the series came as a surprise for majority of people. Scotland have a terrific batting lineup that overhauled England's 350-run total not long ago and their failure to outscore USA in the recent encouter was surprising. Kyle Coetzer and Matt Cross failed to get them off to a good start as Scotland found themselves tottering at 16 for 2 in 4.2 overs.
Michael Jones, Ritchie Berrington, and Calum McLeod brought them back in the business, and just when they were looking set to achieve the target, the wickets of Dylan Budge and Calum Macleod robbed them of all the momentum they had. They were eventually dismissed for 247 in 47.2 overs. Despite a loss in their first match, Scotland remains to be a strong side and beating them is going to take some work from USA.
Matthew Cross, Kyle Coetzer, Michael Jones, Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington, George Munsey, Safyaan Sharif, Josh Davey, MRJ Watt, Alasdair Evans, Hamza Tahir.
United States of America's cricket team is not known for it's cricket prowess and it has been rather surprising that they have done so well in the ongoing trilateral series in Dubai. They have not only won all of their three matches, but have won all of those with a pretty decent margin. In the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, they are sitting at the top of the table with 12 points in 7 matches. They are five points clear of the second best side in the league, Scotland, and will stay at the top regardless of what happens in this upcoming fixture.
It was for the first time in their last few matches that USA failed to bat out their full quota of fifty overs. However, their bowlers brought them back into the contest as they eventually won the match by a massive margin of 98 runs.
Batting first on a used surface, USA got off to a pretty poor start, losing Monank Patel for the team total of 16. They kept losing wickets at the regular intervals before Akshay Homraj, Aaron Jones, and NK Patel brought them back into the game with the knocks of 34, 46, and 40 runs respectively. Their knocks took them to a fighting total of 213, which proved too much to handle for the hosts.
Ian Holland and SN Netravalkar had been in superb form in the tournament leading up to their match against UAE and the duo didn't disappoint them either. Netravalkar picked up three wickets for just 11 runs and Ian Holland returned with the same figures in four overs. All in all, USA are looking in fantastic form at the moment with both their batting as well as bowling doing well and it won't be easy to get past them on Saturday as well.
Saurabh Netravalkar, Akshay Homraj, SR Taylor, C Stevenson, Monank Patel, Aaron Jones, Ian Holland, Rusty Theron, Nosthush Kenjige, Xavier Marshall, Nisarg Patel.

It's been an exciting series so far and is likely to end up that way. The upcoming contest can be seen as a battle between a team on a rampage and a team that is better on paper. Scotland have done incredibly well in recent times and with the likes of Calum Mcleod, Kyle Coetzer, Ritchie Berrington, they have plenty of experience available at their disposal. Considering that as well as the fact that they have an all-around bowling attack, placing money on Scotland's win will be the way to go in the upcoming fixture.
