Sunrisers Eastern Cape
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape has a pretty strong batting lineup with two of the most exciting South African internationals in their lineup. Aiden Markram, who is also leading the side, and Tristan Stubbs are the two big-name batters in this lineup.
Markram is reliable and tends to bat through the inning while Stubbs is the specialist six-hitter.
We think these two can be relied on to have a solid SA 20 and will perform more often than not. The challenge will be getting the other batters around them to contribute meaningfully as well. JJ Smuts, Sarel Erwee, Marques Ackerman, and Jordan Cox appear to be the batters that are likely to feature in the playing eleven.
Brydon Carse is the overseas international leading the bowling effort with Marco Jansen as the other quality player. Roelof van der Merwe is also in the squad and could play as the spin-bowling all-rounder.
The overseas players that Eastern Cape has chosen are some experienced English domestic players but we feel they may have missed out on going for a bit more quality to round out their team.

Pretoria Capitals
The Pretoria Capitals are the favorites going into this match and one look at their squad will show you why. There is a lot of quality in both the batting and bowling departments sprinkled in with some superb international players. Rilee Rossouw, Cameron Delport, Theunis de Bruyne, Senuram Muthusamy, Will Jacks, and Phil Salt lead a strong batting lineup.
James Neesham and Wayne Parnell could both play as the all-round options while Anrich Nortje, Adil Rashid, and Migael Pretorius round out the bowling lineup.
The Pretoria Capitals will go into this match with a lineup that bats very deep and has plenty of bowling options. Their domestic South African players are top notch and we think they have made some very smart overseas acquisitions as well.
Agressive batting, out and out fast bowlers, quality wrist-spin, and depth. Everything seems to be sorted for the Pretoria Capitals on paper. If they play to potential, we think they should have no problem getting a win in their opening encounter.

There is a bit of rain around in Gqeberha and we could have some interruptions. The drainage at the ground is pretty good, though, and if luck favors us, the rain could miss the ground completely. The pitch at St. George's Park is normally fast, bouncy, and offers some help to the bowlers.
The batters will have to work hard for their runs. You should keep in mind that CSA would like to see exciting high-scoring matches and so the groundsman would have been briefed to produce flatter wickets than normal.
