The Caribbean Premier League 2019 may seem to have been going on for a long period but some teams have played a lot many more matches than the others. The Barbados Tridents have played just three matches so far and have a busy couple of weeks ahead of them. They are going to be taking on the St. Lucia Zouks as both sides try and move up in the league table.
The fight for the third and fourth spot looks like it is going to be close and both the teams playing this match are right in the thick of things.
St. Lucia Zouks vs Barbados Tridents CPL 2019 is going to be played at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia.
A very poor batting performance in its most recent match let the St. Lucia Zouks down. Batting first, the Zouks could manage only 138 against a decent St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots side. Considering the manner I which scores have been hit in CPL 2019, 138 was never going to be enough and the Zouks ended up conceding that total in less than 15 overs.
They will hope to hit back at home after that match.
The onus of providing the blistering start the Zouks have got used to falls on Rakheem Cornwall and Andre Fletcher. Both of these batsmen play high-risk cricket that is very exciting to watch. They are either going to score at a phenomenal rate or they are going to get out in the first few overs of the game.
The Barbados Tridents have some exciting spinners in their ranks and we would not be surprised to see one of them take up the new ball.
The St. Lucia Zouks have some good all-rounders in the middle-order but the overall batting appears to be a bit thin. Colin de Grandhomme, Thisara Perera, and Darren Sammy provide depth to the lineup but we would not like to see them come into bat too early.
The role of Kavem Hodge and Roland Cato in the top-order is crucial.
The St. Lucia Zouks bowling lineup is quite good. Fawad Ahmed has been brilliant in CPL 2019 so far and is going to be biggest threat to the Barbados Tridents. Obed McCoy, Kesrick Williams, Hardus Viljoen, and Rakheem Cornwall give the Zouks plenty of good bowling options to call upon.
DJG Sammy, Chris Barnwell, Rahkeem Cornwall, Colin de Grandhomme, Kavem Hodge, Colin Ingram, ADS Fletcher , Hardus Viljoen, Fawad Ahmed, Obed McCoy, KOK Williams.
The Barbados Tridents are likely to be without Alex Hales for this match as he returns to Nottinghamshire to take part in the T20 Blast Finals Day. The information about which team Hales is going to be playing for is unclear but we think it is very unlikely that he will stay back for the CPL 2019.
This loss of their best batsman is going to be a big one for the Barbados Tridents. They still have Johnson Charles, JP Duminy, and the impressive Leniko Boucher to call upon but replacing Hales is not easy.
Jason Holder and Jonathan Carter will probably have to play a larger role in the batting as well.
The depth of the Barbados Tridents batting lineup is pretty shallow as well and a lot will depend on how JP Duminy plays. Ashley Nurse was the highest scorer for the Barbados Tridents in the previous match and he actually helped them reach somewhat of a respectable total but that is not a situation the Tridents would want to be in again.
Jason Holder, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Hayden Walsh were the best bowlers for the Barbados Tridents in the previous match. We are really looking forward to seeing Lamichhane against some of the St. Lucia big-hitters and think his four overs could be crucial to the outcome of the match.
The Barbados Tridents are looking a bit thin on talent to us and a bit too dependent on Duminy for our liking. Not having Hales could upset the balance of the team and make it difficult for them to compete.
Leniko Boucher, J Charles, Jonathan Carter, Jason Holder, Jean-Paul Duminy, Ashley Nurse, Justin Greaves, Sandeep Lamichhane, Josh Lalor, Raymon Reifer, J Bishop.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first and take advantage of the batting conditions.

St. Lucia Zouks vs Barbados Tridents CPL 2019 is going to be played on the 20th of September 2019 at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia. There is a 20% chance of rain on match day but we are pretty confident of getting a full match to see.
The pitch at the Darren Sammy Stadium has been quite lively in recent matches. There is a good amount of pace in the wicket and that should translate to plenty of runs being scored. The spinners are probably going to have to work harder here for their wickets than at any other venue in the CPL.
Dream11 Team and Dream11 Prediction for SLZ vs BT is going to assume that Alex Hales is not available for the match because of his commitments in the T20 Blast. We have tried to include the most impact players in this match, focus on the all-rounders available, and picked spinners as the dominant type of bowler for our team.

We think both these sides have some clear flaws which can be exploited. Neither team has a very dependable batting lineup but the loss of Hales tilts things the way of the St. Lucia Zouks. The Zouks also have a better bowling attack to bank upon.
Bet on the St. Lucia Zouks to win.
