Qualification looks very difficult for both of the teams that are playing this next Caribbean Premier League match. The St. Lucia Zouks and the Jamaica Tallawahs, have both just two group matches remaining and must win them both to have a prayer of making it through.
They will also need some other results going their way otherwise even winning these two matches is not going to be enough.
The Jamaica Tallawahs won a low-scoring match against the Barbados Tridents in their previous match while the St. Lucia Zouks lost their match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. There are some injury concerns on the Jamaica Tallawahs side which makes things a bit tougher for them.
St. Lucia Zouks vs Jamaica Tallawahs CPL 2019 is going to be played at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia on the 27th of September 2019.
Colin de Grandhomme, Colin Ingram, and Christopher Barnwell batted well to help the St. Lucia Zouks reach a total of 161 against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. It was not a bad total and the Zouks certainly had the bowling to make the chase very tough.
As things happened, the Guyana Amazon Warriors continued to bat brilliantly and lost just two wickets while knocking off this total.
It would have been please for the Zouks to see their batting being able to get a good total without the contribution of its mercurial openers. Andre Fletcher and Rakheem Cornwall are going to blast away, no matter what, and so if the middle-order starts performing well then the St. Lucia Zouks batting starts to look much more threatening.
The openers are not very reliable given their style of playing, though.
An ineffective bowling performance by Kesrick Williams, Hardus Viljoen, and Fawad Ahmed would have disappointed the Zouks somewhat. Fawad Ahmed and Kesrick Williams were economical but taking wickets was the need of the hour.
This talented group of bowlers will need to be better against a dangerous Jamaica Tallawahs batting lineup.
ADS Fletcher , Colin Ingram, DJG Sammy, Rahkeem Cornwall, Colin de Grandhomme, Chris Barnwell, Krishmar Santokie, Hardus Viljoen, KOK Williams, Fawad Ahmed, Jeavor Royal.
Andre Russell did not play the previous game and it is unclear if he is going to be available for this upcoming game. We did not hear about any major injury so there is a good chance he is going to be in the playing eleven against the Zouks.
There are so many different match-winners in the Jamaica Tallawahs side that it is difficult to count them out completely. Chris Gayle, Glenn Phillips, Chadwick Walton, Dwayne Smith, Andre Russell, and even George Worker are top-notch T20 players.
They have not been able to play to their potential so far and that has hurt them.
Now, in a do or die situation, one of these players must stand up and be counted.
We are looking at the potential top-3 of this side and think they have the batsmen to take the attack to the Zouks bowlers. Glenn Phillips has to be the man that the Tallawahs turn to in this match.
The New Zealander has been in excellent form and is striking the ball well. He is still looking for that one big inning, though, and that could be this match.
The biggest weakness for the Jamaica Tallawahs continues to be its bowling. They managed to defend 127 in the previous match but that one performance was an outlier. Imran Khan picked up three wickets, Shamar Springer took three as well while Zahir Khan and George Worker bowled well.
Another spin-friendly track in St. Lucia could help the Jamaica Tallawahs continue to win.
Chris Gayle, CAK Walton, Dwayne Smith, GD Phillips, Liton Das, TA Griffith, Imran Khan, Shamar Springer, Ramaal Lewis, Zahir Khan, Jerome Taylor.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

The Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium is known to be a good batting venue with some decent bounce in the pitch. The previous two matches here have been by teams batting first and scoring around 160. The surface definitely gets slower as the game progresses and brings the slower bowlers in the game.
There is about a 40% chance of rain interrupting play around the start of the second inning.
We have not included Andre Russell in our Dream11 team right now because there is no clarity about his availability for this match. if he does play, then make sure you pick him, possibly in place of Andre Fletcher. There should be enough points to make that switch.
We have tried to include the top-order in-form batsmen from both sides, wicket-taking spinners, and three all-rounders that have been contributing in all aspects of the game in CPL 2019. Best of luck!
The team that wins the toss and bats first is going to have a big advantage in this match and that is something that should be kept in mind while placing your bets. Overall, we like the batting firepower that Jamaica Tallawahs possess and think they should be able to get the better of the Zouks in this match.
Bet on the Jamaica Tallawahs to win.
