SNP vs JT Match Prediction - Sep 10, 2019

The Caribbean Premier League has gotten off to a very exciting start. There are a couple of teams that have started confidently while some others that need to tweak their lineup. Falling the second category are St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots, the hosts for this match.

They have played two matches and lost both of them pretty comprehensively. They are now going to be playing against the Jamaica Tallawahs, a side that is also looking for its first win of the season. We felt that the Jamaica Tallawahs were very poor with their planning in the first match and did not utilize its resources in the best manner. SNP vs JT CPL 2019 is an important match from that context.

Hopefully, both the teams are able to put up an improved showing in this match.

St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Jamaica Tallawahs CPL 2019 is going to be played at Warner Park, Basseterre, St.Kitts on the 10th of September 2019.

SNP vs JT Team Previews

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Both the matches that St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots have played so far have highlighted the problems in its batting. There is very little depth in the batting and a lot of the onus of scoring runs is going to fall on Evin lewis.

His strange inning of 9 from 15 balls at the top of the order showed just how poor a run he has been having. It is not going to be easy for him to change things around and start to score runs consistently. Perhaps the next best batsman for the side has been Fabien Allen.

The feisty all-rounder refuses to bow down whatever situation he comes in.

His ball-striking is extremely clean and he really deserves a go up the order. Devon Thomas scored 62 in the previous match but his rotation of the strike could have been better. Hopefully, Jason Mohammad can start to score some runs for the side and take care for some of the batting problems that the Patriots have been facing.

The bowling is not that much better either. Sheldon Cottrell and Fabian Allen are the two bowers that bowled well in the previous match. For some strange reason, though, Fabian Allen was not given any more overs even though his first two overs went for just nine runs.

Usama Mir, Riyad Emrit, and Alzarri Joseph have been quite poor.

DC Thomas, Shamarh Brooks, Laurie Evans, Jason Mohammed, Evin Lewis, F Allen, Carlos Brathwaite, Dominic Drakes, Alzarri Joseph, RR Emrit, Usama Mir.

Jamaica Tallawahs

The Jamaica Tallawahs put in a very shoddy performance in their opening match against the Trinbago Knight Riders. The bowling was inaccurate and there were too many freebies on offer while the fielding was just atrocious.

A number of easy catches went down and there were too many misfields to remember.

The story did not end during the batting either. Batsmen kept throwing away their wickets with terrible shots and even the runs that they did get were because of some terrible fielding by the opposition. Andre Russell was dropped three times, all of them easy chances, but he still did not have enough time to get the side to a win.

It is just crazy to expect him to perform a miracle in every single game. With just 20 overs to bat, Andre Russell should be coming in when there are ten overs to go at a minimum irrespective of the number of wickets lost or the target being chased down.

The Jamaica Tallawahs have too many good players to fail consistently but their tactics need to improve dramatically. The batting is much stronger than what the Patriots have thanks to players like Gayle, Glenn Phillips, Rovman Powell, George Worker, and Andre Russell in their lineup.

The bowling is pretty average for the Tallawahs and not having a quality spinner in their ranks could bite them.

Pitch and Conditions

St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Jamaica Tallawahs CPL 2019 is going to be played at Warner Park, Basseterre, St.Kitts on the 10th of September 2019. There is some rain around in St.Kitts and we could have some interruptions to the game.

The pitch at Warner Park is usually fast and bouncy, at least when compared to a venue like Guyana so hopefully, there should be a lot more runs scored in this match. A total of around 180 can be considered par for the surface.
