The Eliminator CPL 2019 is going to be played between the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who finished third, and the Trinbago Knight Riders, who finished fourth in the CPL league table. As the name suggests, the side that loses this match is going to be eliminated while the winner will go on to play the Qualifier 2 CPL 2019.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots last played over a week ago and would be itching to get back on the field. The Trinbago Knight Riders played just a couple of days ago in the same venue where the Eliminator is going to be played and that could be a big advantage.
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Trinbago Knight Riders CPL 2019 is going to be played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on the 5th of October 2019.
The Patriots have had to struggle in the CPL 2019 group stages to get their victories. The side is not one that is packed with endless resources and so getting the order right was a priority. It looks like they have settled on Mohammad Hafeez as the opening partner alongside Evin Lewis.
We don’t think Mohammad Hafeez is at his best batting wise in the shortest format of the game anymore but rate Evin Lewis very highly. He has been in good batting for and is going to be crucial for the Patriots to try and get a good total on the board.
These are going to be backed up by Shamarh Brooks, Laurie Evans, Devon Thomas, and the all-rounders. This not a very strong batting lineup on paper and is certainly outmatched by the Trinbago Knight Riders in terms of having established stars.
Carlos Brathwaite and Fabian Allen provide the Patriots a lot of depth and some much-needed hitting power down the order. The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have chased down scores well in excess of 200 this season and are capable of brilliant batsmanship. The trick is going to be consistent enough from here on in.
Carlos Brathwaite, Fabian Allen, Sheldon Cottrell, and Rayad Emrit are going to be leading the bowling attack. Mohammad Hafeez is also going to chip in with his off-spinners as needed. Once again, this is not a bad bowling lineup but it is certainly not a great one.
The Patriots have potential match-winners in every department but the side also has some clear holes in it which can be exploited.
Mohammad Hafeez, Evin Lewis, Shamarh Brooks, Laurie Evans, DC Thomas, Carlos Brathwaite, F Allen, Keron cottoy, Alzarri Joseph, RR Emrit, Sheldon Cottrell.
Another match, another set of changes in the batting order and no improvement in the result. It seems as if the Trinbago Knight Riders are trying their hardest to not win matches, looking at some of the tactics they have employed.
Sunil Narine’s injury has meant that the opening slot is open but not a single batsman has laid claim to it. Javon Searles was given the chance in the previous match and Denesh Ramdin was sent in at three.
These are not choices that we expect the Knight Riders to make in the Eliminator CPL 2019.
Perhaps, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, and Kieron Pollard could move up the order since they are the best that the Trinbago Knight Riders have at this point in time. Even Jimmy Neesham may not be the worst player to send up the order and get some momentum early in the inning.
The Knight Riders cannot afford to take it easy against the Patriots. Kieron Pollard and his men must bat to the best of their potential and actually translate the huge potential they have on paper.
Ali Khan, Chris Jordan, Khary Pierre, and Kimmy Neesham are going to be the players responsible for getting the wickets and keeping the runs down. We believe the Trinbago Knight Riders are blessed with clearly better players in every department than the Patriots but the execution of their skills and the tactics from the leadership must be good as well.
SP Narine, LMP Simmons, Denesh Ramdin, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard, S Prasanna, Chris Jordan, AJ Hosein, Khary Pierre, Ali Khan.
The team that wins this toss is going to want to bat first. This is the tactic that has proved to be most successful in CPL 2019 so far at this venue.

The Eliminator CPL 2019 is going to be the fifth match in four days that Providence, Guyana is going to host. There is a very high likelihood of the pitch becoming slow and difficult to score on by the time this match is halfway, through.
The spinners are going to play a huge role and making the most of the hard new ball is also going to be very important for the batsmen. The weather is not expected to be a problem during this match.

The Trinbago Knight Riders have slumped in form over the recent few days but the side remains one of the best-stacked teams in CPL 2019. It has the stronger batting lineup, a better-varied bowling attack, and is not as dependent on individuals as the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are.
Bet on the Trinbago Knight Riders to win.
