We are approaching the half-way stage in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League, and all six teams are still in contention to qualify for the playoffs. Although St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are placed well inside the top-four teams, at the fourth spot, they have a lot of work to do in their upcoming matches. As Caribbean Premier resumes after breaking for a day, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have another assignment at their hands on the evening of 17th September when they take on Trinbago Knight Riders at Basseterre. Trinbago Knight Riders have been one of the best team in the tournament so far and beating them isn't going to be easy for the Patriots. A cracker of a contest is undoubtedly on the cards on Tuesday.
The Patriots had a poor start to this tournament, but with two convincing wins, they've managed to still hang in for the playoffs contention, albeit by a thin thread. In the six matches played, they've emerged on top on just two occasions, and with other teams breathing down their neck, they'll be desperate to bag another two points in their upcoming fixture.
The Patriots have had a rather roller-coaster kind of tournament so far. They started with a couple of back to back losses and bounced back with a superb win over Jamaica Tallawahs wherein they chased down a massive total of 241. Just when they appeared to be losing steam after that win, they once again bounced back with a convincing win over St Lucia Zouks.
Bowling first in their last match, against the Zouks, their bowlers bowled to perfection as they restricted St Lucia Zouks to a total of just 138. The clouds of uncertainty were looming large with their batting, considering how they did against Guyana Amazon Warriors. Their batsmen, however, didn't disappoint Evin Lewis, with ample support from the rest of their batsmen, got them home with six wickets in hand and more than five overs to spare.
DC Thomas, Evin Lewis, Laurie Evans, Mohammad Hafeez, Carlos Brathwaite, F Allen, RR Emrit, Shamarh Brooks, Akeem Jordan, Sheldon Cottrell, Alzarri Joseph.
Trinbago Knight Riders consistency in this edition of the tournament is what the Kolkata Knight Riders have wished for over the years in IPL. Though the two teams are owned by the same owners, there's a stellar difference in how the two sides are managed.
The Knight Riders have so far played four games and are yet to lose a match. Their remarkable net run rate of 1.208 is just one evidence of how dominant they've been thus far. In their last match, they broke multiple records as they smashed 267 runs batting first against Jamaica Tallawahs. While it was their batting in the previous game, their bowling has done tremendously as well.
It's pretty unusual to see Colin Munro, number one ranked T20I batsman in the world, bat at number three, but he's been brilliant at that position in the tournament so far. With the likes of Kieron Pollard and Denesh Ramdin in fine form as well, Trinbago Knight Riders are arguably the toughest team to get past in the competition and beating them won't be easy for any side, let alone St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Kieron Pollard, James Neesham, LMP Simmons, Darren Bravo, S Prasanna, Colin Munro, Mark Deyal, Khary Pierre, Ali Khan, Denesh Ramdin, Anderson Phillip.

While Trinbago Knight Riders appear to be in a pretty good position as far as qualification for the next round is concerned, the Patriots have a massive job at their hand. Having played more number of matches than any other team in the competition, they need to win most of their remaining four games, none which is being perceived easy. In their next game, they are up against the top-most team of the tournament and would need to play out of their skins to beat them. Comparing the two sides on the basis of performances as well as on paper, the Knight Riders go in as firm favorites to emerge on top in the upcoming fixture.
