This next match is a very important one for Somerset. It has got off to a poor start in the T20 Blast 2020 season and is in the middle of the Central Group standings. It cannot afford another loss otherwise it may be left too much to do in the upcoming matches.
Gloucestershire is having an excellent season. It has four wins from five completed matches and sits at the top of the standings right now. Another couple of wins could put it in perfect position to reach the playoffs.
Somerset vs Gloucestershire T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on the 13th of September 2020.
Babar Azam is finding life a bit tougher in this edition of the T20 Blast and now has two successive failures. For a player of his caliber, that is something he is going to want to correct as soon as possible.
Babar loves batting at the Somerset home ground and we think he is going to come back into form with some runs under his belt.
He is going to have some excellent support from batsmen like Tam Abell, Steve Davies, and even Lewis Gregory. The traditionally strong Somerset batting lineup has been under-performing so far but we think it is just a matter of time before they fire in unison.
Max Waller, Craig Overton, and Lewis gregory are going to be leading the bowling attack for Somerset in this match. They are going to be up against a string challenge as they take on the Gloucestershire batting lineup.
Roelof van der Merwe is one of the bowlers that we think could have a big impact on this match.
Babar Azam, Steven Davies, Will Smeed, TB Abell, GA Bartlett, Lewis Gregory, Tom Lammonby, RE Van Der Merwe, Josh Davey, ORT Sale, MTC Waller.
CJ Dent and Ian Cockbain have been the standout batsmen for Gloucestershire so far and the team will be hoping for more runs from the pair of them in this match. As we have mentioned before, Somerset is an excellent place for batsmen to really get stuck in.
Both Cockbain and Dent have been remarkably consistent in the tournament so far and that may have masked a few frailties of the other batsmen.
Apart from these two, only van Buuren has scored a fifty plus score in the Blast this season.
A couple of early wickets including that of the Cokbain and Dent could lead to a batting collapse.
Tom Smith and Ryan Higgins are going to lead the bowling attack. They each have ten wickets to their name and have been able to keep the run-scoring in check as well. The general medium-pace bowling attack and the lack of a quality-spinner, though, are major weaknesses and could be perfect fodder for the Somerset batting.
Chris Dent, Miles Hammond, IA Cockbain, Ryan Higgins, James Bracey, Jack Taylor, George Scott, Benny Howell, GLV Buuren, Tom Smith, David Payne.
The team that wins the toss is almost certainly going to want to field first.

There is no rain that has been forecast for match day. The pitch at Somerset is going to be great for batting. That is something that the ground has been able to deliver historically. The flat pitch and the small boundaries make Somerset one of the highest-scoring grounds in the entire country.
Anything less than 180 is going to be seen as a poor total batting first.
We think that Somerset is the team to back in this contest. Granted that Gloucestershire is a strong team and has been playing very well in recent matches but Somerset is not yet performing at full potential.
We think this may be the game when Babar Azam stamps his authority on the Blast and leads his team to a victory at home.
Bet on Somerset to win.
