Sunrisers Hyderabad is in a tough spot heading into this match. It is going to be playing against the Delhi Capitals and is going to be under immense pressure to win. SRH is one of the teams that is competing for the final playoff spot in IPL 2020 but its loss against KXIP in the previous match has set it back significantly.
DC is not in the best frame of mind either. After an excellent start to the tournament, it is losing form and has lost its previous two matches. The Capitals are in competition for finishing in the top-2 and need to get their act together otherwise MI and RCB are going to run ahead.
There is a lot at stake for both teams but obviously SRH has a lot more to lose.
SRH vs DC IPL 2020 is going to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on the 27th of October 2020.
SRH had the game against KXIP won. For all conceivable intents and purposes, that game was theirs till about the final two overs of the match but SRH was never able to close it out. As a result, SRH has to try and win every single match that it now has remaining and also must hope for a few more things to go its way.
We always knew that SRH was dependent on David Warner and Jonny Bairstow to help it win matches. Both these players have been getting starts but have not been able to convert them into something more significant.
Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankkar managed to win a match for SRH against RR but struggled in the previous match. It looks more and more likely that a match-winning batting performance is going to have to come from the bat of one of the openers.
With the likes of Abdul Samad, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, and Priyam Garg in the lineup, theoretically SRH should have enough batting to be competitive. DC, however, has a good bowling attack that could make life tough for this lineup.
SRH had an excellent bowling performance in its most recent match. We don’t think they are going to change anything around and the same set of players will play. Rashid Khan has been superb and is only going to get more dangerous as the pitches start to wear.
He could be the match-winner that SRH is looking for in this match.
Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Jason Holder, and T Natarajan round out a decent bowling attack.
David Warner, WP Saha, Manish Pandey, KS Williamson, V Shankar, Abdul Samad, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, S Sharma, T Natarajan.
The Delhi Capitals have lost two games in a row and while that is not a cause for concern right now, DC will want to get back to winning ways quickly. Some strange decisions with regard to team selection and matchups have put DC in a position where they have to fight to finish int he top-2.
For this match, we are almost certain that Tushar Deshpande is going to be dropped in place of Harshal Patel. Ajinkya Rahane should get one more opportunity at the top of the order and maybe a change in the batting order to elevate Shimron Hetmyer may be in order.
DC has some inherent strengths that will always make it a tough team to come up against. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje are in terrific form. Their bowling partnership is going to ask questions of every single batsman that faces them.
Similarly, Axar Patel and Ravi Ashwin are an excellent spin-bowling duo. Suni Narine may have smashed Ashwin around the park in the previous match but that does not take away from his quality.
Bowling is not a concern for DC. It still has one of the best bowling attacks in IPL 2020.
The batting is where DC has to be careful. Shreyas Iyer and Rishab Pant have lost form in the middle order while the opening pair is being changed. Shikhar DHawan has been the only consistent player in the lineup and is covering up a lot of DC’s batting faults.
Marcus Stoinis could struggle a bit as the pitches start to slow and this is why we think Hetmyer might be more useful than Pant at 4. Hetmyer is an excellent player of spin and plays on slow surfaces all the time in the Caribbean. He could be suited to playing in the middle and taking the attack to the spinners as needed.
DC has stumbled a bit but we don’t think it is a poor side at all.
Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, RR Pant, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Tushar Deshpande.
We think the team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. The pitches are getting slower and the teams will be keen to get a total on the board. Chasing could become difficult as the tournament progresses.

Dubai is where DC is comfortable playing in and it will be happy to be back. It has the bowling attack to take advantage of the conditions and the large outfield also serves it well. We have seen the average scores come down to around 159 in Dubai and this will only come down further.
Teams have to make sure they are aiming for something around 160 before accelerating and getting more if possible.

We think DC should be able to win this match against SRH. It is going to be up against a motivated team and one that has some very dangerous players on its side. Overall, however, DC has a much better bowling attack and a batting lineup capable of competing with the best.
Bet on DC to win.
We think Marcus Stonis has lost some of that brilliant form that he came into the IPL with. The pitches are getting slower and that is not going to suit him either. This is a pretty safe bet in our opinion especially as the death over hitting across the tournament has taken a dip.
David Warner and Jonny Bairstow are a very good opening pair. They are going to score quickly no matter what the situation is and if they stay together for any significant period of time they are going to win you this bet. Shikhar Dhawan is in very good form for DC and that is perhaps the only major risk that you face against this bet.
This is a risky bet but the returns are so good. Rashid Khan has been in tremendous form for the previous few matches and comes up against a DC side that is struggling with its batting. The pitch in Dubai is also helpful to the spinners. Worth the risk in our opinion.
There is not much to choose between the two teams when it comes to six-hitting potential. The better odds are the primary reason why we are backing SRH and also the fact that David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, and Manish Pandey can clear the boundaries quite easily if they get set.
