SRH vs KKR Match Prediction & Betting Tips - May 19, 2018

Not much has changed for Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad since the last time these two teams met. Sunrisers Hyderabad were conquering the table then and Kolkata Knight Riders were floating in the middle of the table. Although the situation is same for both the Knight Riders and the Sunrisers, the stakes are much higher this time. Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on 19th May 2018 in a bid to cement their place in the playoffs. It will be the last game of the league stage for both the sides and expect both sides to come out all guns blazing.

SRH vs KKR Team Previews

Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers are coming into this game on the back of two straight losses where their bowlers did not perform up to the standards they've set. Uncharacteristically, their bowlers were thrashed for runs in all of their last three games. However, their batting has performed extremely well contrary to what it was like in the first half of the tournament. Shikhar Dhawan, Alex Hales, and Kane Williamson have scored well in the last few matches and the brilliant knock by Manish Pandey in the last game should induce a lot of confidence in the team.

Against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar Kumar was rested to make way for Basil Thampi. That didn't pan out as per the expectations and Thampi was carted for 70 runs in his four overs which is the most in the history of Indian Premier League. Rashid Khan balanced things out with his miserly bowling; he gave away only 27 runs in his four overs and picked up three important wickets including that of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli.

Chasing a tall total of 218, the way Sunrisers approached the target was commendable. After losing Alex Hales at the 8-over mark where they were going at the rate of 8 runs an over, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey steading the ship and increased the ante beautifully. Their batting lineup looks ever stronger with Pandey back amongst the runs with Shakib al Hasan and one of Deepak Hooda and Yusuf Pathan to follow. They'd need to rethink their bowling plans and if their bowlers can execute the new plans, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be a tough side to beat.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing 11

Shikhar Dhawan, KS Williamson, Manish Pandey, Shakib Al Hasan, YK Pathan, Shreevats Goswami, Carlos Brathwaite, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul, S Sharma.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders came back from behind to beat Rajasthan Royals in an important encounter. Now, a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad will ascertain their place in the top-four whereas a loss will bring it down to the net run rate. Kolkata Knight Riders finished their last match with around two overs to spare which boosted their net run rate. The damage they were to their net run rate against Mumbai Indians too big and KKR would not want things to come down to the Knight Riders.

The Knight Riders' bowlers did well against Rajasthan after being under the pump in the first three overs. Shivam Mavi and Prasidh Krishna were thwarted for 57 runs in the first three overs. Despite that, KKR managed to restrict the Royals for a sub-150 runs total which speaks a lot about their bowling. Their bowling rests in the hands of Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Prasidh Krishna, and Shivam Mavi which is expected to stay the same in the upcoming match as well.

Chasing the modest total, Sunil Narine provided them a start which he is famous for. He thrashed Krishnappa Gowtham for 21 runs in the first over before he was dismissed by Ben Stokes off a short delivery in the following over. Robin Uthappa didn't stay for long in the crease and was dismissed on a similar delivery while trying to hit it over the deep square leg.

KKR are coming on the back of back-to-back wins and we are unlikely to see them make any changes made to their lineup going to this all-important game.

Kolkata Knight Riders Playing 11

SP Narine, Chris Lynn, RV Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Shubman Gill, J Searles, Piyush Chawla, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav.

Pitch and Conditions

This is one of the few grounds in this IPL where bowling has dominated batting. Only on two occasions, we've had team batting first score over a total of 150-runs. Both spinners and pacers have been equally effective here and considering the effect of dew, teams are expected to field first.

SRH vs KKR Betting Tips

Sunrisers Hyderabad are coming into the game after two losses in their last two games whereas KKR are coming on the back of the victories. While the momentum is with the Knight Riders, Sunrisers' bowling will be tough to conquer despite the fact that they had two poor games in last two matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad emerged victorious when the two teams met in the tournament before. We expect the Sunrisers Hyderabad to come back to winning ways before moving to the playoff stage.
