Even though the Stars will be pretty happy with the position they're in, they'd like to build on their position, and a loss in their next match could prove to be a serious obstacle in their campaign.

In the tournament so far, they have registered two wins and have lost two matches with one match washed out due to rain. However, the margins of their losses have not been as big as the matches they've won, and as a result, they have a pretty decent net run-rate of +0.245.

The Stars had a terrific start to the tournament with their batsmen in Lizelle Lee and Sarah Taylor doing most of the damage for them. While they've continued with their form, the others haven't been able to get going. The over-dependence on these two in the batting department has been well and truly apparent, which could be exploited by the Diamonds in the next fixture.

The same has been the case with their bowling. Barring Dane van Niekerk, none of their bowlers have looked like picking up wickets with Laura Marsh not looking in an as good rhythm as she looked in the first match. Dane van Niekerk has picked up eight wickets for them in four appearances. All in all, the Stars appear to be a little too over-reliant on a few players, and if those players do well, they are going to be a force to reckon with in the upcoming fixture.

Yorkshire Women

Although Yorkshire Diamonds are a couple of points below Surrey Stars, all it would take for them to get above them is to emerge on top in a couple of games. A win for them in the upcoming fixture will bring the deficit down to a couple of points.

Currently, they are placed at the fifth spot on the points table with an inferior net run-rate of -1.21, which will undoubtedly be of some concern for the management and the skipper.

Yorkshire Diamonds have some of the most prominent names in Women's Cricket, and it has been surprising to see them in the bottom of the points table. Except for Hollie Armitage and Lauren Winfield, none of their batsmen has been consistent for them which is where they'd need to improve the most. On the bowling front, they've been ordinary at best with Leigh Kasperek and Linsey Smith picking up four wickets each so far. Helen Fenby has been the pick of their bowlers with five wickets to her name.

The likes of Alyssa Healy and Jemimah Rodriques, who both were in terrific form coming into the tournament, would need to step up their game, and if they can do that, the Stars will have their work cut out.
