About the Match
The two team lurching in the bottom of the table, St Lucia Zouks and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, clash in the 21st fixture of the Caribbean Premier League to find some air to breathe in season 2016.
St Lucia Zouks
The club at the bottom of the CPL points table, St Lucia Zouks, have had a troubled Caribbean Premier League season 2016 journey, so far, losing thrice while winning only s single game.
The St Lucia based outfit delve into this match on the back of three consecutive defeats, showing signs of struggle both with the bat and the white ball.
For a team boasting such a hugely talented squad in the likes of David Miller, Shane Watson, Darren Sammy and Mike Hussey, it must be frustrating not to be performing at their usual capacity level.
All in all, it has been an overall CPL 2016 campaign failure for the Zouks, with only Michael Hussey and Johnson Charles scoring more than hundred runs while Watson taking a toll as their leading wicket-clincher with six important wickets to his tally.
What still goes in their favor, though, is that they have had only four games in the tournament, so far, giving them a solid chance to do well further in the tournament and move uphill in the qualification race for the knockout stages.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
Their counterparts, the Patriots, are somewhat sailing in a similar boat; despite acquiring the likes of Lendl Simmons, Faf du Plessis, and Brad Hodge, St Kitts have managed only a single win in the tournament which, to much luck, came against the Zouks.
Even Lewis's quick-fire fifties and Tabraiz Shamsi's economical spells haven't dragged them out of the lower rungs of the table.
For this fixture, they will be hoping for du Plessis, Simmons and Hodge to let go of the shackles and contribute significantly.
In fact, Patriots' lackluster performance this year has been majorly due to the aforementioned trio not pulling their weight in most of the games.
In the bowling department, too, the visitors have banked on Shasmi and Samuel Badree to take out key batsmen in the opposition ranks. To make matters worse, Carlos Brathwaite has only featured in four matches for them. Incidentally, the sturdy West Indian all-rounder has been picked for the first Test against India.
Both sides come into this game with back to back defeats and horrible CPL 2016 campaigns, so far, while both squads significantly under-performing in all sectors of the game.
However, though, the good for the Zouks is that this will be the first time for them as they play at home in front of their vibrant home crowd which will give them a lot of boost and a significant edge over others. So we favor a bet for the them in this match
