Surrey and Essex are going to go up against each other in this next T20 Blast match. Neither team has been able to get on the park just yuet as the rain spoiled their opening matches.Essex Eagles are the defending champions and are going to go in with some huge expectations.
Surrey suffered its worst year of the T20 Blast last season but it has a deep bench that should not be taken lightly.
Surrey vs Essex T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at the Kia Oval, London, on the 30th of August 2020.
A lot of the first choice players from Surrey are going to be unable to make it into the country or be unavailable because of national duty. This puts the onus on the homegrown talent that Surrey has nurtured over the years.
We are talking about players such as Will Jacks, Mark Stoneman, Rikki Clarke, and Jordan Clark. These players are going to be the core of the batting challenge that Surrey puts up.
This is not the strongest batting lineup but one that is capable of pulling off a few surprises.
The bowling for Surrey is much stronger. Morne Morkel, Sam Curran, Liam Plunkett, and Jade Dernbach should all be available for the first match. The role of the sole spinner could go to Gareth Batty or young Amar Virdi.
If Virdi does play, it could be a battle of classical off-spinners with Harmer on the other side.
Will Jacks, Jamie Smith, Laurie Evans, Ben Foakes, Rory Burns, Scott Borthwick, Gus Atkinson, James Taylor, Gareth Batty, Daniel Moriarty, Matt Dunn.
The Essex Eagles are coming into the T20 Blast with a lot of expectations and some good form in the Bob Willis trophy. Leading the way is Simon Harmer, who has been called the best off-spinner in the world by a lot of people.
The South African born Kolpak player has made it no secret that he wants to turn out in an England uniform and he is certainly making the ball talk in his favor.
With support from Jamie Porter, Aaron Beard, and Sam Cook, Essex has a very strong bowling attack.
Ravi Bopara has left Essex and will no longer be a part of thor T20 Blast campaign. Replacing him is going to be difficult but Ryan Ten Doeschate could pull it off. With Tom Westley, Cameron Delport, Dan Lawrence, and Adam Wheater in there, the Essex Eagles should be able to find enough runs on most occasions.
Essex Eagles are not the most talented side on paper but they do have a knack of being able to achieve more than what most people peg them for.
Varun Chopra, C Delport, Tom Westley, Daniel Lawrence, RN ten Doeschate, Adam Wheater, Paul Walter, SR Harmer, Aron Nijjar, Shane Snater, Matthew Quinn.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first.

A nice and sunny day has been forecast in London for match day. This means we should be able to enjoy an uninterrupted match between the two. The pitch at the Oval is excellent for batting. There is always some nice bounce and carry in the surface which should make for a high-scoring contest.
Anything around 180 can be considered the minimum that teams look for while batting first.

Surrey is always a difficult team to play against. It has so many world-class players that even one of them can take the match away from you. Their batting is a bit suspect, though, and the kind of form that Essex is in is difficult to look past. Simon Harmer and company should be able to get one past Surrey in this contest.
Bet on Essex to win.
