Surrey and Kent will be facing up against each other in Quarter-Final 2 of the T20 Blast. While almost all of the matchups are exciting, this one is really worth looking forward to. Surrey and Kent have already played against each other twice, with both sides winning one match each.
There are plenty of international stars in both the teams and so there is going to be no shortage of quality when they take on each other for the third time. Surrey topped the South Group with seven wins to its name while Kent finished third with five wins.
Surrey vs Kent Quarter-Final 2 T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at the Kia Oval on the 1st of October 2020.
Surrey was very impressive in the group stages and infact played its last match against Kent. The benefit of having Jason Roy available for this crucial match is massive. He leads an impressive batting lineup with support from Will Jacks, Laurie Evans, Rory Burns, Rikki Clarke, and others.
The top-order of Roy, Jacks, and Evans is going to be the key. Roy and Evans scored 70 plus scores each the previous time they played against Kent. That is going to be in their minds.
Surrey is also going to be aware of the threat that Kent’s batting poses.
The bowling for Surrey is also similarly well-balanced. Reece Topley, Liam Plunkett, Jamie Overton, and Will Jacks are all certain starters. We could see Gareth Batty in the lineup for this match as well.
Surrey is playing at home and has a lot of experience in its lineup. It is going to be a tough side to beat.
Hashim Amla, Jason Roy, Will Jacks, Laurie Evans, Ben Foakes, Rory Burns, Jamie Overton, LE Plunkett, Gareth Batty, Daniel Moriarty, R Topley.
If there is a team that can beat Surrey with ease on its day then its Kent. We are certain that Surrey would not have been happy at this matchup when it came to be. Kent’s batting is very dangerous led by the immensely dangerous Zak Crawley.
In the middle of the summer of his life, Zak Crawley would love to end this season by leading Kent to a title. He is one of the leading scorers in the T20 Blast and will be the biggest wicket for Surrey. He is not the only batsman to fear, though.
Joe Denly, Sam Billings, and Daniel Bell-Drummond add a lot of heft in the batting department.
We actually think that Kent just edges the head to head contest when it comes to the batting.
The bowling is one department where Kent will have to outperform its potential. Fred Klaassen and Imran Qayyum are dangerous bowlers but they are not of the same international quality that Surrey possesses.
Joe Denly, Grant Stewart, and Matt Milnes round out a decent bowling lineup but definitely not one that is going to be able to run through sides on a regular basis.
Daniel Bell-Drummond, Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Sam Billings, Alex Blake, Jack Leaning, Grant Stewart, Tim Groenewald, Matt Milnes, Fred Klaassen, Imran Qayyum.
The team that wins the toss may want to bat first. The pitch is not going to change too much and the pressure of chasing in a big match can be tough to bear.

There are some clouds and a bit of rain predicted for the matchday in London. Nothing that is going to prevent the teams from playing out a full contest, though. The pitch at the Oval is going to be excellent for batting. It could take a bit of turn, as per the reports from the nets, but the center wicket is always a bit better.
We expect a high-scoring match with plenty of hits over the boundaries. The side batting first will want at least 180 on the board to defend.
Surrey is the obvious favorite in this contest but we think Kent has a real shot of pulling this off. The contest is going to be between the Surrey bowlers and the Kent batsmen in our opinion. That is something that Kent can win.
Bet on Kent to win.
