This next T20 Blast match is going to be played between Sussex and Kent, two teams that are unbeaten in the tournament up until now. Kent did tie one match so it has not won all its completed matches but so far, both Sussex and Kent have appeared to be very strong.
This will the third match scheduled to be played at Hove, the home ground of the Sussex Sharks. Will the Kent Spitfires be able to keep their unbeaten streak intact or will home ground advantage prove to be too much?
Let’s find out.
Sussex vs Kent T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at the County Ground, Hove on the 3rd of September 2020.
Sussex has won both its completed matches so far and got off to an excellent start in the T20 Blast 2020 edition. The Sussex Sharks are one of the favorites for the title this year as well according to us, although, they are a bit closer to the rest of the field since many of their top players are missing.
Sussex is a very strong batting team and one or more of its batsmen always seem to come through. It was David Wiese who led the side to a victory while chasing down 166 in the previous match. That was a tricky target and could have been tough without Wiese’s 79 not out from 46 deliveries.
We are looking at Phil Salt or Delray Rawlins to be the batsmen that score runs in this match. Both of them have shown glimpses of their capabilities but have not really gone on to make a significant mark in the tournament.
Sussex’s batting lineup is deeper and has more class than Kent for sure.
Tymal Mills picked up two wickets in the previous match as did Danny Briggs. With Ollie Robinson, David Wiese, Ravi Bopara, and Will Beer, the options in the bowling attack are many. This is not as strong a Sussex bowling attack as we are used to seeing but it is still very good.
Philip Salt, Luke Wright, Harry Finch, Delray Rawlins, D Wiese, RS Bopara, George Garton, Ollie Robinson, Will Beer, Danny Briggs, Tymal Mills.
There is something about this Kent side that makes it very fun to watch. It has young batsmen that are not afraid to give it a go and bowlers that seem to relish the crunch situations. None of the batsmen in Kent’s team passed 45 but they still managed to overhaul 161 with ease.
Zak Crawley and Daniel Bell-Drummond got Kent off to a rollicking start after which Heino Kuhn kept the momentum going. Useful runs from Jack Leaning and Grant Stewart were enough to get the team home.
The most important part about this inning was the intent. Every single batsman that came to the crease with an intent to score quickly, which we have seen missing in teams like Surrey. The batting lineup that Kent has is more than capable of matching Sussex in this next match.
The bowling is more of a concern for Kent. Imran Qayyum, Tim Groenewald, and Fred Klaassen are going to be leading the attack against a strong Sussex batting lineup.
Will they have enough in their arsenal to be able to keep the Sussex lineup under control? We think they might. Qayyum has been economical in the middle and picks up wickets while the others also all stick to the plans pretty well.
If Kent can stay in the game when it is bowling, it may be able to get a win when it is batting.
Zak Crawley, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Heino Kuhn, Alex Blake, Jack Leaning, JM Cox, Grant Stewart, Tim Groenewald, Matt Milnes, Fred Klaassen, Imran Qayyum.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat second and that should be seen as a significant advantage in this contest.

There is a little bit of rain expected in Hove on match day but the forecast does get better as the match time approaches. We are hoping for a full match to allow these strong batting sides full tilt at each other.
The conditions in Hove are excellent for batting. 180-190 is the minimum a team batting first here would aim for and even that is not safe. Expect a lot of boundaries and sixes in this match.
Sussex is the home side with the deeper bench but we are backing Kent in this match. The form of Zak Crawley and Daniel Bell-Drummond at the top of the order makes us believe that Kent could pul off something special in this match. It is a risk to go against a strong Sussex side at home but one that could pay off handsomely.
Bet on Kent to win.
