Our "Prediction Wizard" will calculate, based on the current available betting odds, the implicit winning percentages for the possible outcomes in a match. This will be updated as soon as we fetch the odds from the betting sites and keep updating until the match is finished.
Both Sussex and Middlesex are outside the top-2 in the South Group standings right now. Teams that finish in the top-3 are going to qualify for the Finals Day while two of the third-placed teams with the best records are going to join them as well.
So, the door for Sussex and Middlesex is not shut yet but they need to ideally win their remaining two matches to leave nothing to chance. This makes the upcoming contest between these two teams absolutely crucial.
Middlesex registered a very impressive win against Kent in the previous match while Sussex lost its previous match to Surrey.
Sussex vs Middlesex T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at the County Ground, Hove on the 18th of September 2020.
Four wins from seven completed matches is not a good return for the Sussex team considering the kind of talent they have in their squad. We think we will be able to see an improvement in their intensity now that the crunch time of the T20 Blast is here.
Leading the way with the bat is Luke Wright, who has 350 runs to his name, with a lot of power to back him up. Phil Salt has been away with the England team as a reserve player and will be keen to show what he is capable of. He is among the most destructive batsmen in the entire country.
Delray Rawlins and David Wiese have been very good in this season of the Blast as well. Ravi Bopara showed form with three sixes in a nine-ball cameo against Surrey as well. Sussex will be concerned at having lost two crucial matches at an important stage in the tournament but it still has a chance to make amends.
Danny Briggs and Tymal Mills have been the leading wicket-takers for Sussex. While Briggs is giving away runs at just 6.40, Mills has been going for 8.52 runs an over.
There has been an overall lack of discipline in the bowling attack that is hurting Sussex.
Philip Salt, Luke Wright, Delray Rawlins, D Wiese, RS Bopara, Calum MacLeod, Aaron Thomason, George Garton, Ollie Robinson, Danny Briggs, Mitchell Claydon.
Middlesex managed to cling on to victory by its nails against Kent in the previous match. Middlesex batted well to post a strong total of 184 but then the Kent batting seemed to be doing enough for a win. Some excellent late-over bowling and fielding helped Middlesex win that match by two runs.
It is up against another big challenge now as it takes on Sussex.
Steve Eskinazi has been the best batsman of the side with 376 runs to his name and will be the player in focus once more. He would be pleased to see some other batsmen get runs in the previous match and can hope for some more support.
Players like Cracknell, Simpson, and Hollman are dangerous and showed it in the previous match. Can they do it in two matches consecutively is the question that needs to be answered.
Steven Finn and Tom Helm are the two best bowlers for Middlesex. They seem to be the kind of bowlers that Phil Salt would fancy his chances against and so we worry a bit for Middlesex’s bowling going into the match.
If these two have a poor match, the drop-down in quality to the rest of the attack is pretty sharp.
Max Holden, Stephen Eskinazi, Joe Cracknell, Martin Andersson, John Simpson, Luke Hollman, James Harris, Thomas Helm, Nathan Sowter, ST Finn, TJ Murtagh.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. That seems to be the norm at high-scoring venues like Hove.

A partly cloudy day with very little chance of rain has been forecast in Hove on match day. This means we should be able to enjoy a complete, uninterrupted match between two pretty closely matched teams. The pitch at Hove is excellent for batting and the boundaries are among the shorter ones in the Blast. A lot of runs should be scored.
We think 180 is about par bating first.
Sussex has lost two matches in a row and just seems to be stumbling at the wrong moment. We believe, however, that it has the depth and the talent to right its course. The batting power in Sussex is easily better than what Middlesex has. There is not too much difference in the bowling attack either. With home conditions on its side, we think Sussex should be able to win.
Bet on Sussex to win.
