Sussex and Surrey are two of the heavyweights of the South Group. Both the counties had a very different experience in the T20 Blast last season by this year might prove to be different. Sussex and Surrey often have players missing because of international duty and this season their international stars are going to go missing as well.
Do they have enough depth in their squads to be able to climb out of a very competitive group?
Sussex vs Surrey T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at the County Ground, Hove on the 28th of August 2020.
Sussex was one of the title favorites in 2019 but came across a rampaging Moeen Ali in the Quarter-Finals and could never recover. This year, the Sussex Sharks will be without Rashid Khan, Chris Jordan, and possibly Jofra Archer for most of the season. That is going to take away a big chunk of its bowling strength.
Tymal Mills, Ollie Robinson, and Danny Briggs will have to stand up and lead the attack with support from David Wiese and possibly Will Beer.
Sussex has also made a very important addition to their squad from last year. Ravi Bopara has left Essex after 18 years and is now going to turn up for the Sussex Sharks. His presence not only adds depth to the batting order but also provides another bowling option if needed.
Speaking of the batting, that is where the Sussex Sharks are at their best. They have A starting lineup of potential players such Phil Salt, Luke Wright, Laury Evans, Delray Rawlins, and Ravi Bopara.
There is power, experience, and class in this lineup and stopping this set of players is not going to be easy. Sussex is going to face a tough bowling lineup against Surrey but it definitely has the batting power to fight back.
Philip Salt, Luke Wright, Harry Finch, Delray Rawlins, RS Bopara, Aaron Thomason, George Garton, Ollie Robinson, Will Beer, Danny Briggs, Tymal Mills.
For all the riches that Surrey splashes about and the players it manages to poach, the results just do not seem to come its way. Surrey won just one out outs first eight matches last season and will be hoping for a better start to the T20 Blast 2020 season.
We think Surrey will be able to put together a very strong bowling lineup even though they did not have a very good season in 2019. Sam Curran, Liam Plunkett, Morne Morkel and Jade Dernbach should all find a place in the starting eleven. This is an international quality attack and the presence of Plunkett in there cannot be underestimated.
One out of Amar Virdi or Gareth Batty may play the role of the spinner.
The batting is a bit hampered since Aaron Finch, Jason Roy, and perhaps Ollie Pope is going to be an issue. In their absence, Will Jacks, Rikki Clarke, and Jordan Clark are going to be responsible for getting the bulk of the runs.
Mark Stoneman will fine a place in the starting lineup but he does not appear to be a natural T20 player to us.
Surrey has a strong lineup with some major international stars but they are carrying a lot of scars from their horror season in 2019. A good start to the T20 Blast 2020 is essential.
Gareth Batty, Gus Atkinson, Scott Borthwick, Rory Burns, Matt Dunn, Ben Foakes, Will Jacks, Daniel Moriarty, Jamie Smith, Mark Stoneman, James Taylor.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. The rain could bring DLS calculations into play which tend to favor the team that bats second.

There is a lot of rain predicted in Hove on match day and we could have some delays in getting the match underway. As the forecast stands, the rain is expected to lessen around the start of the match but that is never an exact estimation.
The pitch at Hove is very good for batting and is a high-scoring venue. The boundaries are small and the pitch always has something in it for the fast-bowlers. If we are lucky enough to get a full match, we can expect scores in excess of 170.
Dream11 tips and Dream1 team for Sussex vs Surrey T20 Blast 2020
We think Sussex Sharks have the advantage going into this match. They have a much stronger batting lineup and are playing at home. Their bowling is a bit weak but Surrey is not the strongest battig side, so Sussex could get away with it.
We think Sussex is the team to back in this contest.
Bet on Sussex to win.
