The league stage of Kia Women's Super League is about to come to conclusion with the final league match to be played between Southern Vipers and Loughborough Lightning. Both the sides have already confirmed a berth in the playoff and this match will only act as a practice match before the finals day. The 30th match of the tournament, between Southern vipers and Loughborough Lightning, will be played at The Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton on 28th August.
With 22 points to their name, the Southern Vipers have already made it to the top four sides with four wins to their name. With a lot of difference between them and the teams on either side on the points table, any result in this match will be inconsequential as far as the playoff fixtures are concerned.
So far in the tournament, Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont have been fantastic for the Vipers with the former scoring runs in heaps. Bowling-wise as well, the Vipers have been exceptional, with Tash Farrant and Lauren Bell playing a vital role for them.
All in all, the Vipers have done pretty well in the tournament so far, but they have been a tad inconsistent to their liking. They had a superb start but lost a couple of matches in the middle stage before finally getting the momentum back. They are a pretty good unit which can even go all the way as well.
Tammy Beaumont, Danielle Wyatt, Suzie Bates, Maia Bouchier, Thea Brookes, Amanda Wellington, Paige Scholfield, Fritha Morris, Carla Rudd, Tash Farrant, Issy Wong.
There couldn't be a fairy-tale story as good as Loughborough Lightning have scripted in this tournament. After their first few games, they looked down and out, but a superb run in their last five matches has not only confirmed them a spot in the playoffs but has also pushed them to the second spot in the points table.
They currently have six wins to their name, and a superb net run rate of +0.665 speaks volumes about the kind of dominance they've shown in their recent matches. Mignon du Preez has been their star performer with the bat and has singlehandedly taken the team across the line on numerous occasions.
With the likes of Hayley Matthews, Amy Jones, and Chamari Athapaththu available in their batting department, they are brimming with talent as well as experience. On the bowling front, they aren't as good as they are with their batting, at least on paper, but the way their lesser-known bowlers have stepped up their game in this tournament has been commendable. Sarah Glenn has been their most successful bowler of the competition.
Amy Ellen Jones, Chamari Atapattu, Georgia Adams, Georgia Elwiss, Mignon du Preez, Abigail Freeborn, Jenny Gunn, Sarah Glenn, Lucy Higham, Joanne Gardner, Kirstie Gordon.

Both the sides have done pretty well in the tournament so far, albeit at different stages. While the Vipers were brilliant in their first few matches, they appeared to be losing steam after an excellent start. On the other hand, Loughborough Lightning, with five back to back wins behind them, appear to be peaking just at the right moment. While the two teams are matched evenly on paper, the Lightning have done better in their recent matches and have the momentum. Therefore, they are our pick to emerge on top in the last league game of the tournament.
