SYD vs MLR Match Prediction - Dec 28, 2022

The Sydney Sixers are making a comeback into BBL 12 after a poor start. They have now won their previous two matches and have two wins from the four that they have played. They are the favorites at all the best cricket betting sites ahead of their contest against the Melbourne Renegades.

The Renegades have three wins from four matches and picked up their only loss in the previous match that they played.

SYD vs MLR Team Previews

Sydney Sixers

The Sydney Sixers are picking up momentum and would be very pleased that most of their leading batters now have some runs under their belt. On paper, the likes of Josh Philippe, James Vince, Moises Henriques, and Jordan Silk are a formidable lineup.

We have also seen Hayden Kerr make some valuable contributions to the scores. A bit of consistency from the batting lineup will allow the Sydney Sixers to play their own brand of T20 cricket. It is not necessarily the highest-scoring but it does allow them to get to defendable totals on a lot of occasions.

This is where the bowling lineup comes in. Sean Abbott has a happy knack for picking up wickets while Steve O Keefe is terrific with the new ball. Jackson Bird and Heyden Kerr add depth to the lineup that also has Izharulhaq Naveed and Dan Christian.

The experience in this lineup is immense and the players are used to playing with each other. We have seen in leagues around the world how this can be a big advantage.

Sydney Sixers Playing 11

Josh Philippe, Kurtis Patterson, James Vince, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Daniel Christian, Hayden Kerr, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Jackson Bird, Todd Murphy.

Melbourne Renegades

The Melbourne Renegades had their fourth win of the season within grasp but a poor batting performance cost them heavily. Akeal Hosein continues to be the player of BBl 12 as he took three more wickets in the previous match. His all-round performance has been commendable and we think he could be the player to watch out for in this contest as well.

Andre Russell, David Moody, and Tom Rogers all bowled brilliantly while Mujeeb ur Rahman is dependable as ever. This gives the Melbourne renegades a strong bowling lineup. The problem for them has been getting enough runs on the board. Andre Russell and Akeal Hosein have bailed them out on a couple of occasions, Aaron Finch has carried the side in one match but this is not something that will happen each time.

The top order must get runs and so far, the Renegades have displayed a batting lineup that inspires no confidence at all.

Pitch and Conditions

The conditions in Sydney are expected to be a bit overcast. There may be some swing on offer with the new ball. Australia has also been in the middle of a heat wave that could dry out the surface a bit making it suitable for the spinners as well. A score of around 150 should be one that is tough to chase down.

SYD vs MLR Betting Tips

We think the Sydney Sixers have started to get back to their best. They are coming into this match on the back of two wins and seem to have a better-balanced side than the Melbourne Renegades. The cricket betting sites seem to have got it right and we are happy to take the slightly shorter odds currently on offer on the Sydney Sixers.

Bet on the Sydney Sixers to win.
