The finalists from last year’s WBBL are going to meet each other for the second time this season. The Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat were billed as two of the stronger teams before WBBL 05 began. The Sixers have lived up to that reputation but the defending champions are struggling.
Interestingly, though, the only game the Sydney Sixers have lost this season has come at the hands of Brisbane Heat. We have no doubt that the Sixers will be out for revenge.
Brisbane Heat is in fourth place and needs to win otherwise it risks falling down further after this round of matches.
Sydney Sixers Women vs Brisbane Heat Women WBBL 05 is going to be played at the North Sydney Oval, Sydney on the 9th of November 2019.
The Sydney Sixers have recovered from the early hiccup in their campaign and have fast emerged as the best batting side of the tournament. Both their opening batters, Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy, feature in the top-4 run-scorers of the tournament up until now.
In fact, it is a testament to the kind of batting form that Beth Mooney has been in that she is still leading the charts by a fair margin!
Perry and Healy were involved in a 199 runs unbeaten partnership in the previous match and are in spectacular form. It does not seem to matter on good days but the batting that follows this pair is very good as well.
Ashleigh Gardner, Erin Burns, and the two South Africa internationals are superb batters.
The previous time these two sides met, the Sydney Sixers suffered a batting collapse and ended up losing by 92 runs. The chances of something similar happening seem very remote to us looking at the current form of both teams.
There were eight different bowlers used in the previous match by the Sydney Sixers. Their leading bowlers in this tournament have been Marizanne Kapp, Ellyse Perry, and Dane van Niekerk. There are enough options available for the skipper to not worry about one of them having a poor day.
Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, Erin Burns, Dane van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp, Maddy Darke, Sarah Aley, Hayley Silver-Holmes, Jodie Hicks, Stella Campbell.
Is there anyone that can stop Beth Mooney from scoring runs at the moment? It does not seem so as she continues to rack up runs with immense ease. Sample these records for a moment. She has 346 runs from six innings at an average of 86.50 with 40 fours. That’s the most runs and the most boundaries for anyone this season so far.
She also has four fifty-plus scores in six innings, once again the most for any player, and has two not-outs to her name as well.
She is going to be the biggest wicket for the Sydney Sixers this match. Her importance to the Brisbane Heat is vast because none of the other batters have hit form just yet. Grace Harris made some runs in the previous match and Jess Jonassen has been decent, but no one even comes close to the kind of form that Mooney has been in.
We worry that Brisbane Heat is going to collapse like a house of cards if Beth Mooney gets out early.
Players like Maddy Green, Laura Harris, Sammy Jo-Johnson, and Amelia Kerr can bet but they are far too inconsistent to be depended on.
The defending champions are way short when it comes to batting strength in comparison to Brisbane Heat.
Brisbane Heat has a good bowling attack although it has not been doing very well in this edition of the WBBL so far. Delissa Kimmince, Jess Jonassen, Sammy Jo-Johnson, Amelia Kerr, and Grace Harris are the players that will lead the bowling effort.
It was Kerr that ran through the Sixers the last time these two sides played. If Brisbane Heat can pick up some early wickets then it may have a chance otherwise this match is going to be a huge struggle for them.
Kirby Short, Beth Mooney, Maddy Green, Jess Jonassen, Grace Harris, Laura Harris, Amelia Kerr, Delissa Kimmince, Sammy Jo Johnson, Mikayla Hinkley, Georgia Prestwidge.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

A clear day with very little chance of rain has been predicted in Sydney on match day. The pitch at the North Sydney Oval is excellent for batting and some very high-scoring matches have been played there. Looking at the kind of batters in this match, we could have another match with plenty of runs scored.
Dream11 Tips and Dream11 Prediction for Sydney Sixers Women vs Brisbane Heat Women. Picking Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, and Jess Jonassen is a given in every half-decent Dream11 team. It is the other players that will make the difference between winning and losing.
Brisbane Heat may have managed to beat the Sydney Sixers in the last two matches it has played against them but we don’t see that streak continuing. Sydney Sixers have a strong batting side with plenty of depth and that should help them win.
Bet on the Sydney Sixers to win.
