SYDW vs PERW Match Prediction - Nov 08, 2020

We are almost at the midway stage in the Women's Big Bash League 2020 and things are beginning to pan out beautifully. Sydney Sixers are sitting nicely at the top of the table, but with other teams breathing down their neck, the Sixers will have to work hard to maintain their supremacy. In the bottom half of the points table are four teams striving to get into the top four and Perth Scorchers are one of those four sides. A win for Perth Scorchers in the upcoming match will push them into the top four sides. It won't be easy for them considering that their opponents are Sydney Sixers, who are yet to lose a match in the tournament. The two teams have some excellent players available at their disposal and we expect a hard-fought contest between them. The match is to be played at Hurstville Oval, Sydney, on 8th November 2020.

Sydney Sixers Women

Just moments ago, Sydney Sixers defeated Hobart Hurricanes to register their fourth win of the tournament and added two points to their tally. They now have 10 points to their name and are at the top of the table, two points clear of the next best team. Also, their net run-rate of 1.534 demonstrates how dominant they have been in the tournament.

Even though the Sixers have batting as their stronger suit, its remarkable to see their bowling doing so far. In their recent win over Brisbane Heat, their bowlers did a stupendous job as Sixers emerged on top despite scoring a modest total of 129. It wasn't too different against the Hurricanes as well as Sixers bounced back with the ball despite being in a state of bother midway through the second innings.

Elysse Perry, Hayley Silver Matthews, Ashleigh Gardner, and Marizanne Kapp have done an excellent job up until now and will be tough to deal with for any team in the competition. Besides, the Sixers have enough experience in the bank and will likely be better placed to handle pressure-cooker situations.

Sixers' batting strength is pretty apparent by the names they have on the team-sheet. Most of their batting lineup coincides with that of Australia Women's team and that speaks volumes. In addition to that, their batsmen have scored runs with considerable ease in the tournament so far against almost all kinds of bowlers. The likes of Elysse Perry, Alysa Healy, and Ashleigh Gardner are quick starters and like to put opposition's bowlers under pressure. They bat deep with versatile all-rounders available in the lower middle-order. Given that, getting past their batting is going to be a colossal task for any set of bowlers.

All in all, the Sixers have an immaculately balanced team and their position on the points table reflects that. Another win here will put them in a fine position to qualify for the next round and that is what the Sixers will be aiming for. As has been the case in the tournament so far, beating them is not going to be easy.

Perth Scorchers Women

Even though Perth Scorchers are among the four teams placed in the bottom half of the points table, they are ahead of the other three teams. That is because of the fact that they have played five matches in total as compared to the six that the other teams have played. Also, the net run-rate of Perth Scorchers is expected to improve from here unless, of course, they do not lose their upcoming match by a huge margin.

The Scorchers can consider themselves to be a tad unlucky as two of their matches were washed out due to rain. Whether the rain helped Scorchers or worked against them is a matter of debate, but the Scorchers would certainly have love some time on the field. Their lack of match practice was well and truly apparent in their previous match, against Thunders, as the Scorchers lacked coordination and composure even while chasing a total of 144.

On paper, the Scorchers have a balanced unit with experienced individuals. However, they have not been able to fire in unison yet. Building partnerships, be it with the ball or with the bat, will be the key for the Scorchers. The opening pair that has Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney is as good as any in the tournament. Besides, Beth Mooney scored a good half-century in the previous match will be brimming with confidence.

While the Scorchers have a terrific unit with the bat, they lack a bit of experience in the bowling department. The likes of Nicole Bolton and Sarah Glenn appear to be somewhat overburdened by the pressure they have on their shoulders. If the other bowlers can chip in for the Scorchers, the Scorchers will be a tough side to deal with.

SYDW vs PERW Betting Tips

Both sides are coming into this match without getting much rest after their previous match and that is likely to have an impact here as well. With there isn't a lot to choose between the sides as far as their batting is concerned, the Sixers are certainly better in the bowling department. They have match-winners available right through their lineup and are therefore better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
