About the Match
Placed in the 2nd position with 10 points, Bulls will take on last place holders Super Stars on 6th December at Dhaka for the 21st match of the league. The Stars have had a poor run so far, winning only one game; the Bulls on the other hand convincingly defeated the Riders in their previous outing by 6 wickets to win their fifth match of the season. It will be quite a challenge for the Stars to overcome Bulls on Sunday but the players will definitely come out all guns blazing to help their team win the contest; it needs to be seen if Bulls can to surge ahead of the Victorians to take the top spot.
Sylhet Super Stars
They have met the Bulls earlier and although the bowlers had done a great job of restricting them to 108 runs, the batsmen had toppled like a pack of cards and lost the match by just 1 run. This will be their opportunity to avenge the defeat provided the batting line-up doesn’t crumble under pressure.
Against Victorians, they successfullychased 165 runs, thanks to an all-round performance by Ravi Bopara, who scored 50 off just 38 balls and also took 4 wickets to restrict the opposition single-handedly. Mushfiqur Rahim contributed well with 47 runs while Munaweera scored 36 to start the chase on a positive note. In the last game against Vikings, Shahid Afridi scored a blistering 62 off 41 but without any support from others, either with bat or ball, they lost the match by 10 wickets.
The bowlers need to put up a disciplined attack and not give away easy runs; batsmen like MominulHaque, Nurul Hasan and others must shoulder their responsibilities well and focus on their strengths to start winning if they want to stay alive.
Al-Amin Hossain has been on fire right from the start and he yet again proved his worth by taking 3-30 against Riders; with help from Emrit and Sami, who took 2 wickets each, they restricted the opposition to 104 runs. With D/L in place, the batsmen chased down the target of 75 runs in 13 overs with ease to win their fifth match of the season. The victory has surely boosted their morale and they look well placed to repeat their performance on the field in the upcoming game.
They also overcame a strong unit like Dynamites which has stalwarts like Sangakkara and Doeschate, after chasing 159 runs successfully with 8 balls to spare; Evin Lewis came out all guns blazing as he posted a well-made century from just 65 deliveries. RonyTakuldar played a helping hand and scored 38 runs to help Lewis take the team safely home. Earlier the bowlers did a good job as Cooper and Prasanna took 2 wickets each while Mahmudullah took one scalp to cause heavy upsets in the opposition.
When they met Super Stars earlier, Al-Amin had taken 5 wickets to stifle the opponent; he is vital to the bowling attack and along with Taijul Islam, Cooper, Prasanna and Mohammad Sami, the Bulls are ready to rock and roll once again.
While Super Stars have suffered heavy defeats and are at rock-bottom, they definitely have the resources to bounce back here; Bulls on the other hand have the psychological advantage and seem better placed to emerge victorious on Sunday
