Sydney Thunder has started BBL 2019-20 with two wins from two matches, both of which it was the underdog in. The team has shown a remarkable tendency to fight back from tough positions like the ones it found itself in during its first two games.
Now, the unbeaten Sydney Thunder team is going to play against the Adelaide Strikers. It is a quirk of scheduling that the Adelaide Strikers have not played a single match in BBL 09 as yet. That may have allowed them some time to scope the opposition out but there is no substitute for game time.
The Adelaide Strikers had a poor last season of the Big Bash and would want to start with a win in this season.
Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers BBL 2019-20 is going to be played at the Manuka Oval, Canberra on the 21st of December 2019.
After Callum Ferguson provided the runs to bring Sydney Thunder the win in the first game, the rest of the batsmen turned up in the match against the Melbourne Renegades. Usman Khawaja scored 66 and Alex Hales scored 68 to set the foundation of their chase.
A few late wickets and a last over finish must have sent some hearts racing but Thunder remained ahead of the game for the most part. The real challenge came to them at the start of their bowling when Sam Harper and Aaron Finch seemed to be running away with the game.
Some great bowling by Chris Green, Arjun Nair, and Jonathan Cook put the break on the scoring, though, and kept the Melbourne Renegades to a gettable total.
We don’t think Sydney Thunder is going to change anything much in this match against the Adelaide Strikers. They are going to be facing a strong bowling lineup but the batting is a bit vulnerable.
If Sydney Thunder can continue to bowl as well as it has in previous matches then it certainly has a chance to continue its winning run.
Usman Khawaja, AD Hales, Callum Ferguson, M Gilkes, Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, Chris Morris, Christopher Green, Arjun Nair, CP Tremain, Jonathan Cook.
The Adelaide Strikers are going to be without the services of Travis Head for their opening match of BBL 09 and will be lead by Alex Carey in his absence. The team has undergone some changes from last season and will bear a new look around it.
Alex Carey was one of the star performers from the Adelaide Strikers and would be the first to admit that those performances helped him get into the Australian team. Now that he is no longer a part of the Test squad, Alex Carey will be available for the bulk of the Big Bash season.
We expect Carey to lineup alongside Phil Salt at the top of the order. Both of these players and Rashid Khan also play together at Sussex where they have had a lot of success. Salt and Carey need to get going quickly in the BBL and hope to erase some of the batting problems that the Strikers have had in the past.
Jake Weatherald, Jonathan Wells, Cameron White, and Matt Short are some of the batsmen in the squad for the Adelaide Strikers.
We like the presence of Cameron White in there. He is the fifth-highest run-scorer in BBL history and is dependable in the middle order. He will allow the others to play freely while scoring pretty quickly himself.
The real strength of the side has come from its bowling. Rashid Khan is going to be leading the spin department while Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake, and Wes Agar are probably going to be picked as the fast- bowlers.
We are backing this bowling to start well considering the sheer amount of talent present in that lineup.

Some short lives thunderstorms have been predicted around the time the match is expected to start in Canberra. We hope that the rain stays away during the match and allows a full match to be played out because these are two exciting teams on display.
The wicket at the Manuka Oval has been pretty good for batting traditionally. The last time there was a men’s international game, Australia chased down 151 with ease against Pakistan.
We can hope for a good wicket once more with the par score being around 170.
Dream11 Tips and Dream11 Prediction for Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers
We think that the Adelaide Strikers have an excellent bowling lineup that can stop the Thunder batsmen. The real challenge for them is going to be getting enough runs themselves but we are backing them to do it in this match.
