SYTW vs SYDW Match Prediction - Nov 02, 2022

It’s the battle of Sydney with the Sixers vs. the Thunder!

This matchup will be especially interesting, given the fact that the Sixers are crushing the WBBL in first place, while the Thunder are floundering at the bottom with poor team play.

The Sixers have won four out of their last five games, yet the Thunder have only managed to pick up one victory this season. Although to be fair, two of the Thunder’s recent matches have been cancelled due to heavy rain. It’s likely this break in momentum will affect the matchup even more than usual.

Sydney Thunder Women

It seems a long time ago that the Thunder shocked everyone by defeating the Scorchers by 25 wins. However, since then, they’ve had two cancelled matches and a defeat at the hands of Brisbane. Are they out of rhythm? It’s possible, and this isn’t a good time to find your way when playing the Sixers.

Phoebe Litchfield has been great for the Thunder by making 188 runs so far. She needs some help, however, as Beaumont is too inconsistent and her shot selection is questionable lately. Amy Jones and Rachel Haynes have been putting up good numbers, especially Jones, who has hit 44*, 24, and 38 in her last three matches.

Allrounder Sammy-Jo Johnson has been a bit out of sorts with the ball lately, while spinner Lauren Smith has been bowling great, but needs to get into the habit of taking wickets regularly.

Sydney Sixers Women

Which team can stop the Sixers right now? Thanks to tremendous batting from Suzie Bates (203 total runs) and Erin Burns (182 total runs), the Sixers have reeled off six wins and only one loss this season. Everything is coming together well and it will take a tough squad to bring them down… but we’re not sure if it’s the Thunder.

The Sixers’ bowling attack isn’t to be forgotten, either, as both Maitlin Brown and Sophie Ecclestone have each picked up 12 big wickets in the current season. Both bowlers are finding just the right spots to bamboozle their batting opponents and make it tough for anyone to get into a rhythm.

There’s no doubt that Burns and Bates have become the Sixers’ most reliable batters, as each is capable of putting up big numbers on any night. Bates has made as much as 82*, while Burns has scored as high as 71. Don’t be fooled, these two won’t go for giant scores during every match, but knowing that they’re most likely hitting around 30 is a good sign.

We want to see a bit more from Ellyse Perry in the batting lineup, as she’s only made four runs in her last four matches. Healy and Gardner have become consistent lately after a slow start, which only makes the Sixers’ lineup more threatening.

SYTW vs SYDW Toss Prediction

The Sixers are 6-0 when batting first, so expect this to happen if they win the toss.

Pitch and Conditions

The ground is much smaller than you might find at other stadiums, and the fact that the pitch is rarely bouncy means that batters will have a great time.

SYTW vs SYDW Betting Tips

The Sixers will be too strong against the Thunder, especially as the latter hasn’t won for some time. The Sixers’ batting and bowling lineup are nearly perfect, and there’s always someone to have a great game when another star player just isn’t feeling it.

Bet on the Sixers to win.
