Team Abu Dhabi and the Maratha Arabians got off to a poor start in the T10 League. While the Maratha Arabians were relegated to defeat, team Abu Dhabi had to contend with a tie against the Qalandars.
Now, this is going to be the final group match for both sides and could probably determine the future of these teams in the tournament ahead. At the time of this writing, Team Abu Dhabi and the Maratha Arabians still have to play their second match and so we don’t know those results.
The short nature of the games and the tournament itself means that no team can afford to take it easy.
Team Abu Dhabi vs Maratha Arabians T10 League 2019 is going to be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on the 18th of November 2019.
The batting performance of Team Abu Dhabi was pretty okay in the first match, although, they did not have any one player play a spectacular inning. Niroshan Dickwella, Corey Anderson, and Luke Wright all contributed to the cause eventually helping the side reach a very competitive total.
We like the lineup that Team Abu Dhabi has put together and there is a good chance that it will score some big runs in this match as well. Moeen Ali, Corey Anderson, Luke Gregory, and Luke Wright are all fantastic si-hitters while Niroshan Dickwella is unconventional even when the format is longer!
With Paras Khadka coming in at number 6, there is a lot of depth in the side.
It must be questioned, though, whether these many batsmen are needed since ten overs is all that is available to the teams. Harry Gurney, Ben Laughlin, and Merchant de Lange are the frontline bowlers with support from Rohan Mustafa, Moeen Ali, and Richard Gleeson as needed.
Niroshan Dickwella, LJ Wright, Moeen Ali, Lewis Gregory, Alex Davies, WL Madsen, Marchant de Lange, Ben Laughlin, Rohan Mustafa, Richard Gleeson, Harry Gurney.
A disappointing start to the tournament for the Maratha Arabians confirmed our fears about them. They have some big names in the side but they are either lacking match-practice or are not suited to the conditions.
Adam Lyth, Chris Lynn, Yuvraj Singh, and Chadwick Walton are all fantastic players when at their best. Lyth and Lynn, though, need to get adjusted to the pace of the wicket quickly while Yuvraj Singh is just simply past his best.
Chadwick Walton played well as did Dasun Shanaka but that is about it. There is not too much more to follow in terms of the batting.
Lasith Malinga and Mitchell McClenaghan are the two fast-bowlers that will lead the attack alongside Dwayne Bravo, James Fuller, and Shiraz Ahmed. It was strange to see Wanindu Hasaranga not get a single over after his recent exploits.
The lack of imagination from Dwayne Bravo in the captaincy was the biggest concern we came away with after the Maratha Arabians opening match.
They are clinging to players past their best and solely on reputations, not on current form.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

The pitch at Abu Dhabi is only going to get slower as the tournament progresses. The batsmen are going to struggle to get the big hits and we may see the par scores come down a bit. 100 seems to the score that most teams are aiming for as a minimum.
The weather is not expected to be of any concern during this tournament.
We think Team Abu Dhabi has a very good chance of emerging victoriously in this contest. They have more players that are currently active in international cricket and are in good form as well. They also have a more balanced team composition overall and a side that is better suited to the conditions.
Bet on Team Abu Dhabi to win.
