Abu Dhabi T10 League is set to get underway on 15th November and the third match of the day will be played between Team Abu Dhabi and Qalandars. The match will be played at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Both the teams are yet to win the tournament and have points to prove. Both the sides have some exicting, talented players available at their disposal and fans will relish the contest between the two sides. Short boundaries and quick outfield means plenty of runs will be on offer on Friday.
Team Abu Dhabi is rich in T20 talent with players like Moeen Ali, Harry Gurney, Luke Wright, and Ben Laughlin available at their disposal. Most of their players are well-versed in playing T20 Cricket across the globe and the experience of playing cricket in different conditions may come in handy for them.
Without a doubt, Moeen Ali is expected to play a key role for Team Abu Dhabi. Ali has shown incredible form for Worcestershire and was solely responsible for taking them to the final in this year's T20 Blast. Although they lack firepower at the top of the order, they have enough talent in the middle-order to take them across the line.
With the likes of Mohammad Amir, Harry Gurney, and Ben Laughlin, they have a formidable bowling unit that can prove to be lethal even for the best in the business. However, with Amir out to play against the Aussies, they certainly have a few problems to deal with.
Niroshan Dickwella, LJ Wright, Moeen Ali, Corey Anderson, Paras Khadka, Rohan Mustafa, Harry Gurney, Ben Laughlin, Marchant de Lange, Richard Gleeson, Lewis Gregory.
Qalandars did fairly well in the last edition of the tournament and will be looking to better their last year's performance this time around. They have a strong unit with exceptional talent in batting department, but lack the same in the bowling department.
Luke Ronchi has done exceptionally well over the years while playing in different outfits and will be a key player for them. With Umar Akmal absent as compared to the last year's team, they have a huge void to fill and will need someone to step up in the batting department.
Unlike most of the other teams in the competition, they are pretty strong in the bowling department too. Availability of all-rounders add to the variety in bowling department without compromising on batting strength. Mujeeb ur Rehman will be key for them and his two overs could very well govern the fate of the match for the Qalandars.
Luke Ronchi, Dawid Malan, Tom Banton, Laurie Evans, Jordan Clark, Philip Salt, S Prasanna, Chris Jordan, Lahiru Kumara, George Garton, Sultan Ahmed.
These are early days in the tournament and both teams would love to get going and put some points on the board in their first match. Both Qalandars and Team Abu Dhabi have their own respective sets of strength and weakness and with form not being a factor as of now, its hard to separate the two. Having said that, with specialist options available in the bowling department, the Qalandars are better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
