We are finally into the last day in the league stage of the Abu Dhabi T10 League and things are looking pretty settled. All four teams have already qualified for the playoffs and the state of the points table is likely to stay the same, regardless of the results of any of the two matches being played on the day.
The second match of the day is to be played between Team Abu Dhabi and Delhi Bulls and we expect that match to be a thriller of an encounter. The match between the two sides will be played at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 2nd December 2021.
Team Abu Dhabi started off in a fantastic manner, staying unbeaten for the whole of the first half of the tournament, but seemed to be a bit off-color in the fag end of the tournament. Having said that, they were so good in the first half that even a couple of defeats in the second half could not keep them from finishing in the top two.
As it currently stands, Team Abu Dhabi are placed second on the points table with 14 points to their name and a net run rate of 1.226. A win here would push them to the top spot and that is exactly what they will be looking to do in the upcoming match, even though it is not going to matter.
Team Abu Dhabi did stutter in the second leg of the tournament, but with back-to-back wins in their last two matches, they seem to have found their rhythm back. Not only are they coming off two consecutive wins, those wins have also come with high margins, highlighting the kind of dominance they have shown. In their last match, skipper Liam Livingstone finally joined the party as he smashed 59 runs in just 24 balls to take his side to a fighting total. In response, the bowlers did a terrific job as they restricted Deccan Gladiators to a total of just 117. Sheldon Cottrell, Jamie Overton, and Naveen Ul Haq were their stand-out bowlers.
On paper, Team Abu Dhabi have a fantastic side that only a few other sides can match in the balance. They have stroke-makers available right throughout their lineup, who all can hit sixes at will. On the bowling front as well, they have plenty of options including the tournament's most successful fast bowler in Marchant de Lange. They have done well so far and if they can play to their potential, getting past them would be incredibly difficult.
Philip Salt, PR Stirling, Liam Livingstone, Colin Ingram, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Jamie Overton, Naveen-ul-Haq, Danny Briggs, Sheldon Cottrell, Marchant de Lange, Muhammad Farooq.
Delhi Bulls did not get off to a dream start in the tournament, but they are certainly having one now. Thanks to a fantastic run in their last few matches, they have climbed to the second spot on the ladder, and had it not been for the net run rate, they would have had a decent shot to get to the top position. Even a big win is unlikely to push them to the second spot, given that Team Abu Dhabi and Deccan Gladiators both have a better net run rate than the Bulls.
The Bulls come into this match on the back of two fantastic performances, with bowlers doing a fantastic job in both of those matches. They surprisingly defended a rather modest total against Bangla Tigers and then rampaged past Chennai Braves to score a one-sided win.
Given the way they have played in the tournament so far, it would be safe to say that their bowlers are the primary reason that Delhi Bulls are in a good position to progress. Against Chennai Braves as well, Dominic Drakes, Romario Shepherd, Fazal Haq Farooqi, and Adil Rashid all did pretty well to not only keep things tight but also pick up wickets at regular intervals. With the bat, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Chandrapaul Hemraj were fantastic as they chased down the total of 80 in just 4.1 overs.
On paper, Delhi Bulls do not have as many star players as the other teams have, but they certainly have punched well above their weight. Also, Eoin Morgan may not have been fluent with the bat, but he has been spot-on with his on-field tactics. Against a power-packed batting unit of Team Abu Dhabi, Delhi Bulls will have perform at their peak potential and if they are able to do that, they should be well in business.
Chandrapaul Hemraj, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Luke Wright, Sherfane Rutherford, Eoin Morgan, Dwayne Bravo, Dominic Drakes, AU Rashid, Nyeem Young, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Shiraz Ahmed.
As the format gets shorter, chasing generally gets easier and we have seen that happen over the years across the formats. The surface is not going to change a lot over the course of the match and that might further tempt the two sides to field first. Besides, chasing has been the order of the day in the tournament so far. Considering that the captain winning the toss would want to field first.

These are the same surfaces on which ICC World T20 was played, but batting has surprisingly been an easier affair in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The scores of over 100 have been scored more often than not with 120 being a par score here. The relative ease in batting has more to do with shortened batting and dew, which has been a factor in all matches. Spinners and seamers have both been under the pump and defending have not been easy. Surfaces are getting slower with every passing match and spinners might have a big role to play in this and in upcoming matches. Considering that and the recent records, the team batting first would be targetting to score a total of at least 125 runs.

This is a dead-rubber on paper, but both sides would want to register a win here, given the role momentum plays in the shortest format of the game. Both these sides are coming off two back-to-back wins and it is difficult to separate the two sides on the basis of form. While Team Abu Dhabi have a power-packed unit, they also seem to be over-reliant on Liam Livingstone to do the heavy lifting in the middle order. Delhi Bulls, on the other hand, have a complete side, at least on paper. Bowlers have been fantastic for Delhi Bulls and we believe they will hold the key in this upcoming match. Considering that and the risk-reward ratio, betting on the Delhi Bulls win should be the way to go here.
