Qualifier 2 of the Caribbean Premier League 2019 is going to be played between the Trinbago Knight Riders and the Barbados Tridents. The Knight Riders won their Eliminator against the St. Kitts and Nevis patriots with ease while the Tridents fell short against the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
The winner of this match will face the Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL 2019 Final.
This will be the third time that the Trinbago Knight riders and the Barbados Tridents play against each other. Both the matches earlier in the season were won by the Barbados Tridents.
Trinbago Knight Riders vs Barbados Tridents Qualifier 2 CPL 2019 is going to be played at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on the 10th of October 2019.
The Trinbago Knight Riders are taking the circuitous route to the CPL Final and are now playing a virtual semi-final. This is a tricky match-up for them after failing to beat the Tridents even once during the group stage.
There were a couple of interesting changes made by TKR in the Eliminator. Sunil Narine came back into the side even though he was clearly not at 100%. Whether he is able to continue playing through the pain in this match remains to be seen.
Seekkuge Prasanna was also picked, perhaps, to suit the spn-friendly conditions in Guyana.
For this match, Jimmy Neesham might get a call back into the side in place of one of the spinners, particularly if Sunil Narine is in the side as well.
For TKR to win, its batting must fire. Lendl Simmons has been batting very well at the top of the order and Kieron Pollard has been dominating attacks lower down. There are a lot of other batsmen that are not pulling their weight.
Colin Munro, Denesh Ramdin, and Darren Bravo all need to come good when it matters. This may be an additional reason to have Jimmy Neesham in the lower order to try and insure against a batting collapse.
The addition of Sunil Narine made the TKR bowling attack immediately better. Chris Jordan hit his stride and Ali Khan had a good outing. Kharry Pierre, Kieron Pollard, and whoever the all-rounder picked will share the remaining overs.
TKR is playing in front of a home crowd and that can be a big advantage in games like these.
LMP Simmons, SP Narine, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Kieron Pollard, S Prasanna, Chris Jordan, J Searles, Khary Pierre, Ali Khan.
The Barbados Tridents won both the matches against Trinbago Knight Riders with ease. One win was by 63 runs and the other, just a few days ago, was by 7 wickets. The bowling attack for the Barbados Tridents won it that game and that is going to be crucial once again.
As we saw in Qualifier 1, the Barbados Tridents were thrashed around the park by the Guyana Amazon Warriors and never recovered. At no point did the Tridents seem likely to chase down a big total so they would prefer not to get into the same situation against TKR either.
Haydon Walsh has been bowling very well and is going to be a big threat in this match as well. Support from Harry Gurney, Shakib Al Hasan, and Jason Holder makes the Barbados Tridents a decent bowling team.
Raymon Riefer and JP Duminy are the ones that will round out the remaining overs.
Barbados Tridents has struggled with its batting. Alex Hales has looked good for shorter durations without making the most of it. He does like to score in the knockout matches, though. Johnson Charles has been a disappointment and a lot of pressure will fall on JP Duminy.
He has the experience and T20 talent to keep the batting together. Shakib Al Hasan is a more dangerous batter in ODI cricket while Jonathan carter is being forced to bat a bit too low down the order.
Barbados Tridents started CPL 2019 poorly and then hit a purple patch just at the right time to qualify second. Now, it must bring the heat against the defending champions of the CPL.
J Charles, AD Hales, Shakib Al Hasan, Shai Hope, Jean-Paul Duminy, Jonathan Carter, Jason Holder, Raymon Reifer, Ashley Nurse, Hayden Walsh, Harry Gurney.
The team that wins the toss may want to field first. This is the first match of CPL 2019 at this venue and so the par score is not well known. There is also rain around which may favor the team chasing.

This is going to be the first match to be played at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad in CPL 2019. This is a good thing because we believe the wicket is going to be fresh and excellent for batting. It is going to be in the home team’s interest to play on a batting belter where its power hitters can dominate from the beginning.
The weather forecast for the matchday is not very good. There are thunderstorms predicted earlier in the day and then around the time of the start of the match. We will just have to pray that the famously fickle island weather changes at the last minute and allows a full match to be played.
Dream11 team and prediction for TKR vs BT is going to be an interesting one. There are some very good all-rounders up for grabs which we would love to have in the team. Sunil Narine has been playing with a broken finger and that it could be risky to have in the side as well. There are also some dangerous batsmen like Alex Halex that have not quite lived up to their promise and some that are batting too low to be productive in terms of getting Dream11 points, like Jonathan Carter. The pitch is also being used or the first time in CPL 2019 and there is some rain around too. We suggest going with current form, looking for impact players, and giving experience some importance as well.

We think playing at home provides the Trnbago Knight riders a big advantage. They have the batting power to blaze past the Barbados Tridents but their bowling is not as good. The tactics used by TKR so far in CPL 2019 have also been questionable, to say the least. The return of Sunil Narine and the form of Kieron Pollard should help it win, though.
Bet on Trinbago Knight Riders to win.
