TON vs VAK Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Jul 25, 2019

The Global T20 Canada or the GT20 Canada is about to start once again and this time some definite improvements are being promised by the organizers. For one thing, there are some Indian names in the tournament, a rare achievement for T20 tournaments around the world and something that is going to attract a lot of eyeballs. The second thing has to do with the organization of the tournament itself.

Drop-in pitches have been prepared for the first time in Canada and we can expect some better playing surfaces which should allow for plenty of big hits to be scored.

The first match of the GT20 is going to be played between the Toronto Nationals and the Vancouver Knights at the CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario on the 25th of July 2019.

TON vs VAK Team Previews

Toronto Nationals

There is a lot that is different about the Gt20 2019from its previous season and this is why it may be pointless to look at previous results, however, the fact remains that the Toronto Nationals finished last in the table when the tournament was held in 2018.

This year, they have some of the biggest names participating in the tournament in their squad.

Brendon McCullum, Kieron Pollard, Yuvraj Singh, Mitchell McClenaghan, Heinrich Klaasen, and Manpreet Gony are some of the names in the squad. We think the Toronto Nationals have an excellent core of T20 players and they are going to be able to put together a formidable team.

The batting is going to be led by Brendon McCullum and Kieron Pollard alongside Yuvraj Singh and Henrich Klaasen. Kieron Pollard has been picked for the T20 series against India for the West Indies and so he is not going to be available for a big chunk of the tournament.

Callum Macleod is also a part of the squad and he is widely regarded as the best associate batsman in the world right now.

Add Sandeep Lamichhane, Mitchell McLenaghan, and Chris Green to the bowling lineup and you have a very well-balanced attack.

Toronto Nationals Playing 11

Brendon McCullum, Rodrigo Thomas, Calum MacLeod, Y Singh, Ravinderpal Singh, Kieron Pollard, Heinrich Klaasen, Mark Montfort, MJ Mcclenaghan, Salman Nazar, Jeremy Gordon.

Vancouver Knights

The Vancouver Knights are the defending champions of the GT20 Canada and would be hoping to keep the crown this time around as well. This is another side that is bristling with top-quality names like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Tim Southee, Shoaib Malik, and Rassie van der Dussen.

We are not sure of Andre Russell is going to be available to play the opening match because he is also a part of the T20 squad for the West Indies which is going to face India in about a week.

Chris Gayle is never one to be counted out but he is nearing the very end of his career and surely his time as the most destructive T20 batsman in the world is done, no matter what he himself says. Shoaib Mailk is another batsman that has been struggling with international cricket and has retired from Pakistani cricket just recently.

Tim Southee remains in very good condition but we don’t think he is half as good as the bowler he was at his peak. Rassie van der Dussen is perhaps the only international player in this team that is at the top of his game right now and this is why his contribution to the team is going to be so vital.

Michael Rippon, Tobias Visee, and Rizwan Cheema are three of the better associate cricketers going around as well.

Overall, though, the bowling looks a bit thin for the Vancouver Knights and most of the leading batsmen are nearing the end of their careers or not in good form. We will be surprised if they managed to get their GT20 Canada 2019 campaign started with a win.

Vancouver Knights Playing 11

Chris Gayle, Tobias Visee, CAK Walton, RVD Dussen, JJ Smit, RA Cheema, Andre Russell, MJ Rippon, Saad Bin Zafar, Andile Phehlukwayo, Ali Khan.

TON vs VAK Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. The pitch is unknown at this point of time and both teams will not know what a good total is on the surface. Chasing is a safer option in such a situation.

Pitch and Conditions

Toronto Nationals vs Vancouver Knights GT20 Canada 2019 is going to be played at the CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario. The weather forecast for Ontario is pretty good. There is about 20% chance of rain but that is pretty standard for Brampton around this time of the year. We should be able to get a full match in.

The pitch is going to have some moisture in its for the first couple of matches and provide some help to the fast bowlers. We think a score of about 140-150 is going to be par.

TON vs VAK Dream11 Prediction

Our Dream11 Prediction for Toronto Nationals vs Vancouver Knights GT20 Canada is going to focus on the marquee players. They are the ones that are expected to pull in the crowds and do the bulk of the scoring. It is in the lesser-known names, though, where Dream11 teams will be made or broken.

Wicketkeeper: We have picked Heinrich Klaasen and Chadwick Walton fro this category. Both of these players are going to be expected to be one of the leading batsmen from their side. We really think Klaasen is underrated and could make a big statement in this tournament.

Batsmen: Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, Shoaib Malik, Rassie van der Dussen, and Callum Macleod are the players that we have chosen for this match. Gayle is always a smart pick in any T20 match even if just for defensive purposes and even though Yuvraj Singh may not be at the peak of his players, he is still a serious six-hitter. Shoaib Malik could contribute with both bat and ball and is an easy pick as well. It is Rassie van der Dussen and Callum Macleod from whom we expect the best results. They are current international players that are at the peak of their powers.

All-rounders: Kieron Pollard may not be bowling anymore but he is still a huge asset to have in the side. We are unsure about Andre Russel's availability for this match and this is why we have not picked him, otherwise, he should be in the side for sure as well.

Bowlers: Sandeep Lamichhane, Mitchell McClenaghan, and Aaron Summers are the three bowlers we have picked. Lamichhane is a good leg-spinner while McClenaghan is one of the best T20 bowlers going around. Aaron Summers is probably among the fastest bowlers on the planet and can be devastating when on target.

Captain and Vice-Captain: We have picked Heinrich Klaasen as captain and Callum Macleod as vice-captain for our Dream11 picks Toronto Nationals vs Vancouver Knights GT20 Canada.
