The Titans were quite unlucky to have lost their opening match to the Warriors as rain intervened and washed away all the good work the Titans had done with the bat. They now take on the Cape Cobras to try and get their first win of the CSA T20 Challenge 2019 tournament. Their opponents, the Cape Cobras, are going to be in very high spirits after winning a cliffhanger against the Lions in their previous match. The Lions had to get 7 runs off 7 balls with 6 wickets in hand and ended up messing that up.
This T20 tournament is quite short and does not allow many comeback chances for teams getting off to bad starts. This is why the Titans would love some luck on their side when they take on the Cape Cobras in this match.
Runs for almost every single batsman in the previous match for the Titans meant that the side put up a big total on the board. Theunis de Bruyn top-scored with 74 but valuable contributions were made from Diego Rosier, Grant Thomson, and Farhaan Behardien as well.
Henry Davids and Tony de Zorzi got the Titans off to a good start but could not capitalize. We loved the way these two were striking the ball and think one of them could go on to make a big score in this match.
The Titans have a strong batting lineup with plenty of power in it. Players like Henry Davids, Theunis de Bruyn, and Farhaan Behardien have the experience of playing T20 cricket around the world as well. The side will look back at the weather-related bad luck they had and move on. The batting lineup did nothing wrong and so there is no need to change things up just yet.
The bowling attack just had six overs to try and make an impact and they failed. Defending ten runs an over with all the wickets in play for the opposition is difficult but yet we would have expected Davids, Junior Dala, Shaun von Berg, and the others to do better.
Henry Davids, Tony de Zorzi, Theunis de Bruyn, DS Rosier, GM Thomson, Farhaan Behardien, Rubin Hermann, Eldred Hawken, Junior Dala, Shaun von Berg, Gregory Mahlokwana.
The victory that Cape Cobras managed to register in the previous match was exceptional. They needed to defend 7 runs in the last seven balls and the bowlers stepped up big time. Rory Kleinveldt, Dane Paterson, and Vernon Philander form a world-class bowling attack and so it was good to see them step up under pressure.
The Cape Cobras have been getting their act together as a side. They finished the 50 over tournament strongly and have started the CSA T20 Challenge well as well.
With their bowling attack, the Cape Cobras are going to be a threat no matter who they are playing.
It's not just about the bowlers either. Players like Hashim Amla, Janneman Malan, Kyle Verreyne, and George Linde are all very good with the bat. Amla seems to have regressed in the last few years but he has the motivation of an upcoming World Cup to score runs and get back to peak form.
The Cape Cobras have a very strong T20 side with bowling as its biggest strength. That is how the most successful T20 sides around the world have been built, for example, Perth Scorchers, Chennai Super Kings, and the Adelaide Strikers.
Hashim Amla, Janneman Malan, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne, Simon Khomari, George Linde, Aviwe Mgijima, VD Philander, Rory Kleinveldt, Dane Paterson, T Bokako.
The side winning the toss is almost certainly going to want to field first with all the rain around.

The CSA T20 Challenge match between the Titans and the Cape Cobras is going to be played at Willowmoore Park, Benoni. There is a lot of rain around in Benoni and we are going to be lucky to get a result on match day.
The likelihood of the match being truncated is very high and the chasing team is going to have a big advantage as well. The conditions at the ground are usually skewed towards the batsmen and the fast bowlers. A ten over shoot-out can go either way, though, and the conditions are not going to have a very large role to play.
These are two of the best teams of the tournament going up against each other. We would love to see a full match being played out between the two but rain is almost certain to play a role. With a better bowling attack that has performed under pressure and some excellent batsmen on its side, the Cape Cobras seem to be the better-placed side of the two.
Back the Cape Cobras to win.
