The Dolphins and the Lions have run away from the rest of the pack in the Momentum ODI Cup 2020. That leaves the scrap for the next two qualifying places pretty close. Two teams that are sitting mid-table right now are going to be playing this next match.
We are talking about Titans vs Warriors, a clash between the fourth and third-placed teams in the league right now.
Both the teams are coming into this match on the back of a loss and have not been great when it comes to recent form. With the bottom four teams all having won the same amount of matches, positions can change very quickly and this is why there is no room for any further errors.
Titans vs Warriors Momentum ODI Cup 2020 is going to be played at Willowmoore Park, Benoni on the 6th of March 2020.
It is not too often that the losing side has two out of its top-3 batsmen score centuries and end up with a total of more than 300 to its name. That is exactly what happened, though, in the previous match for the Titans.
Aiden Markram and Diego Rosier scored centuries to put their side in an excellent position but the Titans were unable to make the most of that platform. The batsmen that followed got starts but nothing significant. The push at the end of the inning never came and the Titans were left at least 20 runs short of where they should have been.
That turned out to be the difference in the end.
The Titans have struggled to put performances together where all their disciplines have done well. Either the batting does well or rarely the bowling is good but does not get the support from the bowlers. The likes of Dean Elgar, Grant Thomson, and Farhaan Behardien have underperformed their potential and that is a concern.
The Titans have struggled massively with their bowling. They don’t have the wicket-takers or enough bowlers that keep it tight either. The opposition teams have been able to chase down relatively big targets against the Titans bowling with ease.
Rivaldo Moonsamy, Faf du Plessis, Aiden Markram, Dean Elgar, Tony de Zorzi, DS Rosier, GM Thomson, Corbin Bosch, Junior Dala, Alfred Mothoa, Imran Manack.
The Warriors are up against a serious challenge when they take on the Titans. Their batting is not as strong and the bowling is not too great either. That means that the few quality individuals in the Warriors team will have to play out of their skins to be able to get the Warriors past the Titans.
We are looking at Matthew Breetzke, Sinethemba Qeshile, and Lesiba Ngoepe as the batsmen that can get the runs needed to win this match. All three of the batsmen have had a couple of good scores in the Momentum ODI Cup but have not been as consistent as they would have liked.
The Titans do not have a very strong bowling attack and this is where the Warriors batting could take advantage.
We are also looking at Andrew Birch and Sisanda Magala to make a difference in the bowling attack. We actually like the Warriors bowling attack better than that of the Titans. They also have Stephan Tait and Ayabulela Gqamane to provide support.
Is this an attack capable of running through the Titans batting lineup? Maybe not but it certainly has the bowlers needed to ramp up the pressure and force mistakes from the batsmen.
The question remains to be seen whether the Titans batting is going to be able to overcome the Warriors bowling because that is the contest we believe is going to settle this match.
Yaseen Vallie, Lesiba Ngoepe, Edward Moore, Matthew Breetzke, Marco Marais, Ayabulela Gqamane, Onke Nyaku, Andrew Birch, SSB Magala, Jade de Klerk, Stefan Tait.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

The weather in Benoni is expected to be excellent on match day. We should not have any trouble getting the full match in and can expect a pretty good batting surface as well. The outfield at Willowmoore Park is going to be very quick and the size of the ground is not too big either.
The pitch has a fair bit of pace in it making it ideal for stroke makers.
We think a match in which 300 has to be the bare minimum that teams batting first aim for is likely.

We think the Titans have the far stronger batting lineup in this contest and that gives them a big advantage. The Titans bowling is pretty weak and that is a concern but we think the batsmen are the ones that will tilt this contest towards the Titans on a good batting surface.
Bet on the Titans to win.
